What draftboard. The one where all the teams ahead of us has them picking the players we coveted? We weren't prepared for what happened and we didn't have a plan B. All this talk about none of these players coulda started for us is bothing but Jerry trying to justify his lack of preparation for this draft.
Of course they had a Plan B, trade down.

" We coveted " ? Who told you that ?

Because yesterday the guy who's on the know said we didn't " target " anybody and there's a HUGE difference between " picking a player if he falls to us " and " coveted "...

i think we had a good first 2 rounds.....got RW11 in the 1st and traded our second for 2 picks....not bad...sorry you didnt approve ...maybe you should buy a football team and show them how its done....:lmao2:
Actually, we traded up in round 1 with our 3rd round pick to draft Roy Williams. Thats how I look at it in my opinion.

But I agree (after about an hour of disappointment ranting last night) that it was best to trade down. Looking at the value chart posted by Silver Bear in the draft forum and the players Dallas has brought in, there are plenty players with a 2nd and 3rd round grade that can still be had. I would however like to see some of those 5th rounders traded up to move into the 3rd and 4th rounds and so on.

I guess Jerry didn't like anybody in the whole draft. He's Bill Walsh reincarnated I see.

I'm interested to see who we draft, but just because we had a good draft last year doesn't mean we'll have one this year. Before that we hadn't drafted a starter (excepting Nick Folk) since 2005.

So I think this idea that we couldn't draft a game changer at 51 is pretty bunk. If the players we were targeting weren't there and we traded down because of that, it's fine, but it's not because there weren't any players left worth a 51st overall pick.

I don't understand all the handwringing.

The VRF followed their draft board. There was no value left on their draft board and were fortunate to find someone to trade out with.

Jerry's damned if he does or damned if he doesn't. I applaud him for following the draft board.

Great post. BTW, you don't draft for openining day in my opinion especially at the WR and QB positions. The draft should be about the future with certain position providing an exception, i.e. RB and/or CB.
