This is per The Break's Derek Eagleton. Are you kidding me? THE STAR was the only reason I liked the roof being open. Those night games when they show the blimp view and you see the star on top of the video board always gave me chills. I have to admit, that seeing the star on the field at Texas Stadium's aerial view gave me even more goosebumps, but the new stadium all lit up at night just won't be the same with the AT&T logo. This is akin to selling out, but as long as they win on the field I guess it really doesn't matter. I just believe in tradition and the star is tradition.

Interesting, on Talkin' Cowboys they seemed to be saying both the star and the globe were up there.

Oh how I hope you're right. Removing the star seems blasphemous. Eagleton works for the Cowboys so he should know, but Mickey and Brian have inside knowledge too.

Money talks!

Unfortunately. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the Cowboys got their naming rights. It's a business and they have to remain profitable and competitive. But the star should never be swapped for anything. Ever. If you want to juxtapose it with another logo like those press conference backgrounds, OK. But never replace the star with something else. Just a pet peeve of mine, I guess.

Agree. It wouldn't be that big of a deal to leave it there.

This is the stinking reason they are going to have the roof and the doors open.

Terrible idea by the way. It hey are estimating like 98000, add that to the heat and its going to be suffocating in there Sunday. Just like it was in 09 when our defense was on empty on that final drive which cost us the game.

I really hope he rethink it and keep it closed up.

I sure hope so.

I have heard a number of media members today say they were hearing the team wanted it open.

That would be miserable. That first game in the stadjum against the Giants completely sucked.Though, I do hope that they open it up more this season, like they did last season.

Why can't they just paint the AT&T logos on both sides of the center on the roof? I usually laugh at the traditionalists on here for being so curmudgeon about every way things are done, but this would bug me if true..

do you guys know if those annoying "chuck e cheese" sound effects are going to continue into the regular season or are we leaving that experiment in the preseason?

This is world we live in. Get used to it. Major League Soccer replaces team logos on jerseys with product logos. There are even teams named after products. I think the New York Red Bulls is a team. It's been reported that the NBA is gonna start selling marketing space on their jerseys. I even heard that more teams are gonna switch to the new sleeved jerseys because the sleeves add like 20% more marketing space. Now, we're replacing our star with the AT&T globe. In another 10 years, we'll be called the Dallas AT&T Globes.

The heat will favor our team.

Giants wore down last year in game 1 and we should see that again next year.
