A bash Mike Zimmer thread at Cowboyszone! You're probably shocked.

It is warrented today though, against a team as bad as the Texans, the Cowboys had ZERO quarterback sacks.

Not only did they have zero quarterback sacks, but they weren't even close to Carr but maybe one or two times.

Now, as we all know, David Carr is one of the tougher QB's in the league to sack, but that is simply no excuse.

Bob Dole has heard people all year long with these tiresome "Ware vs. Merriman", "Is Marcus Spears a bust?" discussions.

The fact of the matter is this - there is NOBODY out there that can tell Bob Dole with a straight face that this defense doesn't have the talent to be causing havoc on opposing QB's.

So why aren't they?

Mike Zimmer.

That is pretty untrue. We didn't have any sacks, but we got into the backfield several times in the second half. And I don't know that we blitzed all game.

I hear you all the way. However, we did cause some pressure that contributed to those two interceptions. We certainly need more sacks and pressure in general but I'd take interceptions over sacks any day of the week.

Might want to look up Carrs QB rating, Completion Rating, number of INTs before the game...and those same stats during for this game.

Not saying we don't need more sacks, but you might be somewhat surprised by those numbers.

Now Now...he only had around a 108 QB rating and given up around 2-3 ints prior to the game.

I mean matching the number of INTs and bringing his QB rating down by 71 does not mean they are doing anything to the qb.

Before their meaningless last drive, when we were simply letting them complete underneath passes, we had held them to 162 yards. ONE HUNDRED SIXTY TWO.

Give me a break.

and you might be surprised that most of his "numbers" came when his team was getting blown out

hence, why stats dont always tell the whole story

So how did the defense do today dbair? How do the factual stats posted not show how our D dominated them?

I guess if the game plan was to eliminate long plays, they did that

but I didnt see anything that remotely resembled consistent pressure...

I know this is hard for some of you to grasp, but we dont play the Titans and Texans every week

So if he makes good stats in other games he was getting blown out in (indy and washington) why did he still come into this game with a 108 QB rating.

Yet when he finished the game with a 37 QB rating after again getting blown out?

I think the gameplan is to shut down the opposing team and not allow them to score alot.

How did the defense do this week? Can you stand to give Zimm credit?
