honestly who cares. if we lose to a 3 win Commanders team w/ a backup qb then i hope the eagles win...put us out of our misery.

The Skins would be doing this organization a huge favour having to force Jerry's stubborn hand.

*Really?* You'd prefer to see us lose the division and not get the home playoff game just to see the HC who's not even the real problem in Dallas in the first place get canned? Give me the extra football, please.

you and hostile are the only two who still believe this.

I don't know what Hos believes, and don't know what others believe, but you're right that I believe it. I believe what I've said all along, that we need to fix the pass defense. I do believe that Garrett erred in bringing on Monte Kiffin, and that the changes he made in that regard might cost him his job. And I believe he made a significant game management mistake in the game last week that cost us a win and could cost us a playoff berth and a division championship.

I guess I'll have to believe that we have fans who'd rather roll over on a season and pretend the HC is a cancer, whatever that's supposed to mean, rather than seeing the team accomplish it's near-term goal. I just don't understand that mentality, at all.

You people who yap about hoping the Eagles win if we lose to the Commanders....that is sheer stupidity.

So many teams back their way into the play offs and then win the super bowl.

Yet you guys hope we miss it altogether.

just dumb

Those teams had a defense that could get of the field at least once a half.

You think Garrett was the one who brought in Kiffin?

That's an important point. Our defense was bad before, to the point where we had to count on people getting healthy and changing some of what we were doing (playing more press with Mo back, maybe dropping Church in the dime, whatever). Now, losing Less, Sims, and maybe Carter and finding out even with Ware healthy he's not capable of making game changing plays...it's a pretty tall order thinking we can stop anyone at all right now on defense. Still, though, who wouldn't rather, given the choice, win the division and get a home playoff game to watch? I literally don't understand any fan not wanting that.

I'll be rooting for the Giants and Steelers to win for Fantasy Football reasons then.

I need Forte to do work.

I actually dithered a bit on the wording of that before I posted. We don't have much to go on, but if I had to guess, I'd guess that Jerry just didn't like Rob Ryan--his personality, or whatever--and that that DC change was forced on Jason by the organization. But from there, Jason had a pre-existing relationship with those old Tampa coaches, and I'm sure they were on his own list of acceptable options given the vacancy.

Either way, it looks like bringing them in was a mistake. That might not be entirely fair given that defense was predicated on pressure, and we lost so many pressure players (I'm considering Ware 'lost' until proven otherwise). I'm sort-of torn, because they *did* fix the takeaway problem that I harped on all last season. I just didn't expect the already bad pass defense to possibly get so much worse, but somehow, it did.

Taking our game aside, if the Giants beat the Lions (difficult) and the Packers beat the Steelers the Bears would have nothing to play for on Sunday night, so that means that if that were to happen and we lose to the Commanders, the Eagles would probably be playing the Bears backups for the division title.

I know that if we lose to Washington we don´t even deserve to be in the playoffs (not that we do right now) but that scenario would be awful.

Awful? It would be perfect. Let this nightmare end already!

The Cowboys have found a way to beat division foes all season. Here's hoping we go 6-0 in the East so it won't matter what any other team does. Yes, I am rooting for my Cowboys.

How dare you. We need to lose so the team gets so embarrassed that Garrett gets fired, Jerry dies, and Romo literally chokes to death. Then we can release all of our players, coaches, and staff, demolish the stadium, hang Rowdy, and start a new team based on the consensus disicion making of our knowledgeable posters.

What difference does it make? The Cowboys season is going to end in typical fashion no matter if it's against the The Deadskins, Eagles or someone in the wild card game. It will either be a blowout or a meltdown. That's what these Cowboys do.

When a head coach makes a "significant game management mistake" that cost his team a division title..............................that is a fireable offense right there.........................."inexcusable" as Aikman said.

Here's my take: I think Dallas can go 0-2 and Garrett still comes back. That is as long as the players do not show any signs of quitting in either of the last two games. I also believe when Jerry came out and said that Garrett was safe and would be back next year, I think partially he did that just in case that this scenario happened (not making playoffs).

If Dallas goes 0-2 and obviously doesnt make the playoffs, it would be very difficult for Jerry to announce for the first time that JG was returning as head coach.

BUT....its not so difficult for him to come out and say something like.....Listen, I said a month ago that Jason would be returning as head coach. I do wish we had ended the season better, but these couple of losses have not changed my mind...I think Jason is the right man, long term, to coach this team. We're real close.

NOTE: I'm not saying I am in favor of him coming back. I am just saying what I believe will happen.

the eagles game means absolutely nothing...we should win which makes the bears=eagles game a yawner....but, if we lose, then we don't deserve to be in the league, let alone the playoffs...
