You might have missed that guy Lovie Smith who was actually calling all the plays.

LOL. Ask any coach, Bears fan or look up any articles on Marinelli and buy yourself a clue. Marinelli is very highly regarded by his peers.

What I saw tonight wasn't so much the players being deficient, but the scheme being transparent to Peyton Manning and the Denver OC. They always knew EXACTLY where every player was going to be on every play. It was pretty much the same against Rivers. Right now I'm having trouble understanding why we don't make some major changes immediately. Everyone in the league now has film that shows how to complete passes on our D on almost every play, and how to create holes to run through. They know what we are going to do. It's so easy they don't even need to bring their punter.

I diddnt say he wasnt well regarded. I said that Lovie Smith called the defense. Buy yourself some reading comprehension, champ.

Is it possible that we need spend money on the DL instead of play makers? Boring but effective just like with the OL.

Ok fair enuf but how many years did Peyton face Kiffen - so you think he should know how to beat a Kiffen D

plus I think we say maybe one of the best QB'S of all time IMO

You said Lovie called the plays when Marinelli was DC for Bears. You were wrong, champ. Last time Lovie called plays instead of the DC in Chicago was in 2009 when Babich was the DC. It was a disaster. Marinelli was given the position and all it's responsibilities in 2010 and results speak for itself.

This is the the third time we've given up over 400 yards passing in five games. It is unacceptable, IMO.

Are you really showing me an article from 2011, the year before Lovie got canned, to some how justify your improper assertion that Marinelli was behind the Chicago defenses? Seriously??

The line is where the games are lost and won. A good Dline can create pressure to force errant throws to DB's and in turn, it makes them look like stars.

BINGO.....you are absolutely correct...Cowboys DL is made up veterans players coming in off the streets. Monte Kiffen and Marinelli have to work magic to just to keep games close.... DL is hanging out the entire backfield....Kiffen is handcuffed, has to do the best with what he has.

just remember these are the same two guys(Kiffen and Marinelli) that said at the draft that the defensive line was a strength on this team, some of us here said that was laughable...

Whose job is it to cover the freakin RB!!!!!! I am sick of this bs, it killed us most of the SD game & then today, Lee & others were given the RB 6-7 yards of space underneath. I need some freaking answers! This zone scheme sucks balls & Kiffin-Marinelli better light some fire under these guys & turn this around. Manning & Rivers are good QB's but this has been unacceptable.

You would be right if that were true. When's the last time the Cowboys "spent money" for a playmaker? T.O?? Secondly the Cowboys lost Spencer, Crawford, Ratliff, Bass and Brent during the course of the year, not many teams can withstand the loss of four or five expected major contributors from a single unit and thrive.
Btw-Peyton Manning went up against the Giants who spend gazillions in money and draft picks on dlineman....he lit them up for 40+ as well. That guy is really good.

The safeties and defensive line are the biggest weak spots in my opinion. How long has it been since we had competent safeties who can make plays in the passing game?

Soooo fans realize that Ratliff and Spencer are done. They also realize that Ware is injured and not 100%. Essentially 3 out of the 4 down lineman aren't effective or even on the field.

And we are calling for the DC's heads? The 4-3 is about rushing the QB but when we have a pass rush that is partially nonexistant it makes the entire defense look bad.

Unfair to Kiffin. If we had our starting lineup in, our defense would look alot better with QB hurries. Just saying.

I believe if we throw the Austin. Ratliff and Spencer money onto some D-Line and draft a young player we will be more than fine.

Marinelli is the only coach on staff I really like but a clean sweep is needed in alot of places.

you can clear out the coaching staff only so many times. At some point...the needle needs to point to who the 'team leaders" are on the field and replace them.
