The Best and only solution to fix the Defense

No, it's to throw money at the D-line next offseason. Ware's tires are coming off, and we have a bunch of nobodies starting.

I forget....when Stephen Jones announced that they have some 'secret sauce'....is this sauce to be applied to offense or defense?

Marinelli wouldn't even accept the Chicago DC position b/c of his loyalty to lovie smith. He would show the same class in this type of scenario. I want him to be DC next year.

Marenelli would probably quit. He came here to coach with with Kiffin. Maybe they can work together during the bye week to tweak the scheme. Marenelli had some good defenses in Chicago!

If he has the magic to fix the defense, he should start with the dline

To be fair nobody on the DL would start for many teams

BINGO.....you are absolutely correct...Cowboys DL is made up veterans players coming in off the streets. Monte Kiffen and Marinelli have to work magic to just to keep games close.... DL is hanging out the entire backfield....Kiffen is handcuffed, has to do the best with what he has.

No excuses. Produce or get out. That is the standard set during last offseason.

Rob Ryan wasn't afforded that excuse...

Why don't we just wait for the new HC to make that decision. ;)

This defense is at least four players and a good coach away from being good. I don't think we have any chance of greatness within 3 years. The reason I liked Ryan is that his scheme was innovative enough...and unpredictable enough.... to mask a lot of inadequacies.

Marinelli is an awesome d-line coach. Is he a good DC? Not so sure.

You can't make chicken out of chicken $&@$. Tom Landry said his final year "coaching can only do do much, you have to have the players". Landry was a great coach and cringed at the statement that the game had past him by.

agree, the defense sucked last year because the Cowboys also forced to start veteran players that were coming off the streets....the more things change the more things stay the same in cowboy land. It wasn't a big loss for me I was never a Rob Ryan fan.

Problem was, he was a scapegoat. It's clear the offensive play calling was the issue. You can't be aggressive on defense if your offense isn't scoring.

Exactly... You can't win the Derby if you don't have the horses!

Marinelli was an excellent DC for the Bears.
