I might be in the minority..
But Dorance Armstrong on a reasonable deal wouldn’t be a bad idea.
When he was drafted from Kansas, he was considered young and raw. It was understood that he’d have to develop and he has every year.. albeit not as fast as most would like. He started a few games with 507 defensive snaps on the season(13 games) and finished with more sacks than Lawrence (272 snaps on the season) and one less than Gregory (437 snaps) and wasn’t considered a detriment in the run game. He is still young (24yo) and will be entering his prime for a DE. I’m not saying he would wow folks, but if he continues to show improvement.. I could see 8-10sacks, which would be solid opposite of Lawrence. Honestly, his play reminds me a lot of Lawrence when he was younger. If Lawrence isn’t your idea of a DE, I will understand why you don’t agree with this post.
That said, signing Armstrong would ensure a solid/experienced DE with potential. Dal could also sign a veteran pass rush specialist like Ingram, etc.. and add a rookie within the first couple days of the draft to push him. Yeah it’s not flashy, but with Parsons and possibly a young gun rookie LBer or DE, it’s not a terrible idea under Quinn’s scheme.
