What is the best thing about being a Cowboys fan? The Dallas Cowboys have a great history. Coaches, players, Doomsday Defense, Superbowl Championships!!! They are second to no other franchise. They have the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. You get to wear Cowboy hats and brag a lot. They are the best team in the NFL's top division. Washington, Philly and the Giants are all excellent franchises, just one notch below the Cowboys. That makes for a lot of great rivalries and big games. And of course it is nice, year in and year out, always to have a little edge on them. #2 on my list is all the Superbowl Championships. I like my team being the best from time to time, and like this year being the favorite to meet the Patriots in the Big Game. It is just Awesome watching the Cowboys play in the Superbowl.

But the best thing at the moment is having a great owner like Jerry Jones. The new stadium is coming. But what he does best is keep the team competitive signing the free agents and hiring the coaches as needed, while at the same time keeping an eye on the future of the franchise. How many owners will shell out the big bucks to keep players and for the free agents their team needs to win, while at the same time taking pride in stockpiling a high #1 pick for next year. He is the best owner I have ever seen at doing both, taking care of the future while doing what is needed to try to win now.

The hatred, Lordy how I love the hatred. Every green eyed ounce of it.

Have you ever noticed that those who don't respect the team at all come across as incredibly shallow when they try and disrespect the team? Just makes their hate even funnier.

I appreciate fans of other teams who can discuss the game without having to explain their hate. I truly respect that in them. My goodness the ones who can't just trip all over themselves trying to be clever.

The hatred is the purest form of entertainment.

The winning tradition - success breeds followers. It also breeds hatred - just ask Hos.

The blue STAR on the silver helmet. I think I fell in love with it the first time I saw it. Who doesn't want to be a star when you're a little kid?

I remember when I was a little kid, me and my brother would sneak downstairs at 10 pm to watch the beginning of the show "Dallas" just to catch a glimpse of the scene where they showed Texas Stadium. LOL.

The only team I've ever really cared about in any sport.

It has to be for me the passion that still keeps me so interested
in the team in the offseason as well as the regular season.I'm
51 years old,i'm as excited about our team as i was when i was
9 years old.The best part has to be that it keeps me young and
knowing i'll always be a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Btw,;) always loved the cheerleaders.

Hee hee My brother and I would sneak into the house, saying we needed to use the bathroom, to watch the games and keep up on the score while my dad had us outside working. We got the living snot beat out of us, no joke, for this when my dad went into the house and found the tv was still warm. :D lol It was worth every whipping. Wish I would have taken a few more, but my dad threatened to get rid of the tv. My brother and I have paid a steep price to watch the cowboys play football!

There is something about the star. No other franchise has the glamour, the pizazz, the showmanship, the success, the class and the Texas roots as the Cowboys.

The Cowboys are what Texas represents. They represent all the folklore and romance of the West from the covered wagons to the modern skyscrapers of the metroplex.

None of the teams in the West truly conjure up images of the West like the Cowboys. They represent the star. There is no other franchise image or logo that comes close to having the glamour of the star.

The Dallas Cowboys are the class of the NFL. All of the great franchises of the past that existed before the Cowboys were even born were great but which ones were truly glamorous? Represented class? Only the logo of the Cowboys shines in the sky.

The Cowboys are the Clark Gables of the cinema, the John Waynes of the westerns, and the Chuck Norrises of the action theatre. The Cowboys always gets the leading ladies. What would the NFL be without the Cowboys? A movie without a leading man.

Everything from their cheerleaders to their scientific approach to the draft. Tex Schramn the innovative GM, Gil Brandt the first personnel director to use the computer to store and dissimulate info on players to the great Tom Landry that led the Cowboys to 20 consecutive winning seasons, all placed their stamp on a team that distinguished the Boys as a special franchise situated in a special state and special city with special fans around the world.

I would sum it up like this: The Cowboys represent class, glamour, and a winning tradition that makes fans from around the world. There will never be another franchise like the Cowboys. There is only one star in the lone star state.

First, I have never cheered for another NFL team in my life. So I only know the Cowboys. I guess like others have said the history, the success, being one of the US most popular and visible Sport franchise. I would also say, when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, there are two types of people, THOSE OF US WHO LOVE THEM and those who hate them. With that, I have struck up alot of conversations with mere strangers all over the world about them (ex military so I have traveled alot), people with nothing in common with me but the love for the Boys. On the other hane I have had just as many debates and arguments with those who hate them, but it was all in the spirit of good sportsmanship. I have Co-workers to tell me they hate the Boys because of the Boys Fans because we feel they can't do no wrong and there is no other team that can match them. DUH........I guess that is what atrue fan does. LOL. And lastly, because of boards like this one where you can discuss our common love with people all over the world that has one common denominator. THE DALLAS COWBOYS

yes its funny how people try to not like us...at my work in the "office" area we have a picture of a dog sled...but its a picture from the dogs point of view in the back, reminds me of how everyone is trying to catch up with us. with the text saying "the positions never change unless you do something positive"

What's the best thing about being a Cowboys fan?

All of it, man. All of it. The girls. The glory. The players. The history.

Every little bit of it.

working outside DURING a Cowboys game? That's cruel and unusual punishment from your father.

By the way having the games on TV alot without having to shell out for Sunday Ticket (It's more economical in my situation to go to the bar)is a nice perk.
