I promise, I'll be MUCH happier if he can beat the Colts, and the Giants, and the Eagles, etc, etc.

Yeah, wait until he beats a good defense like the Panthers or puts up a 100 QB rating on a 3 game road trip before we start proclaiming anything.

Yes, do it consistently over the entire year. Romo played well in the Panthers game, but it was our D which took it to them.

3 games is much too early to proclaim greatness. Give him the rest of the year before coronating the next king.

I'm sure there's someone somewhere on a Patriots message board saying, "Woah, there. Let's not put Brady in the Hall of Fame just yet. Let's wait and let him finish his career before we do that."

He predicted him to be the next Gary Hogeboom. Doesn't look like his prediction is coming to fruition.

Bradie won three freakin' Super Bowls.

You're comparing Romo to Bradie? ha ha ha.

I actually made a similar statement after Bledsoe was pulled.

I'm happy Romo hasn't shown Hogeboom's inability to lead a football team. Then again, the talent level around Gary was alot lower back then than it is now.

Gary had a live arm, and was too much in love with it. That was his fault.

But it's only 3 games. Let's give Romo more time.

If I remember correctly, Eddie was absolutely livid that we didn't trade Romo for a 3rd rounder.

No, you don't want him evaluating QB's.

I like Tony as much as the next guy. But until he wins a game in the division im not gonna call him graet. I suppose he played real well against Was, but an L is an L.

Eddie,

I'm loving Tony Romo right about now. Yeah, yeah...it's only three games. And today's game came against a poor team. But after years of horrid play at this position, it's difficult not to become excited about a young player that has all but perfected each task asked of him.

I'm not entirely against drafting a quarterback. Romo's performance the rest of this year will heavily determine what I think needs to be done. If he were to stink up the next seven games, that obviously changes things. But, so far, that "seems" less likely than him continuing to do well based on what we've seen.

My problem with a high pick at quarterback is this: They're no sure things, either. Yeah, they come with a lot of status, but we already have a young quarterback that IS playing well. I'm afraid drafting a quarterback is just reaching for that green grass on the other side.

Now, I'm not against -- even as we sit here today -- drafting a guy in, say, the third or fourth round. Give us a young developmental guy behind Romo, along with perhaps a veteran acquisition to back him up. Plus, it'd be a decent insurance policy.

But if Romo does continue to play well, I'd be concerned a first-round pick at quarterback would just stir up controversy we don't need. Again, I'm willing to wait out Romo's performance before fully determining the answer to that.

I don't buy the "L" is an "L" argument any more than a "W" is a "W" argument when it comes to assessing individuals.

If you're 3-0 with a quarterback that has passed for 1 TD and 5 INTs, it's safe to say -- IMO -- the quarterback isn't the reason you're undefeated.

If I'm an NFL exec, I don't draft a QB early until NFL personnel departments show me they have some clue as to what they're doing as far as evaluating the QB position. A 40% success rate with 1st round picks isn't going to cut it.

I like Belichick and Ron Wolf's philosophy. Draft a QB late in every draft, and develop him the right way.
