***The Bledsoe thread*** merged.

Did you see the way our line collapsed to their pressure? No QB could play well under that mess, short of Vick scrambling out of it. Until the line can give any QB more than one sec before they are in his face he isn't going to be successful.

Quick question.

Given the teams exactly how they were this year. How would Bledsoe have done swapping places with Matt Hasselbeck and how would Hasselbeck have done here?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Seriously-even MH would get the jitters with Torrin and Rob trying to protect him.

Yep-I don't know what this talk is about how Drew is a statute in the pocket, and needs a PERFECT line. You saw him tonight, he moved around just fine-even Theisman pointed it out many times.

The OL, especially tonight, has been absolutely PATHETIC. Even the Manning brothers would get jitters just thinking about how Torrin and Rob would protect them.

Oh yeah...that's right. How many points did that vaunted defense score that year?

How much did our offense score? 18 points a game 36 points less than we have this year.

the defense allowed 260 points which is 16 points a game

This year they allowed over 19 a game

2003 we played
5-11 Atl
4-12 ginats X2
6-10 Jets
4-12 Cardinals
5-11 Lions
7-9 Bucaneers
5-11 Commanders X2
6-10 Buffalo
8-8 Saints

Thats 11 games against teams .500 or worse

This season

9-7 Chargers
10-6 Commanders X2
11-5 Giants X2
13-3 Seahawks
13-3 Broncos
10-6 Chiefs
11-5 Panthers

Thats 9 games against teams that are .500 or better

Notice any differences there?

Thats the answer I was looking for. I think Bledsoe put in Seattles situation would have produced about the same results as Hasselbeck. With their offensive line, they would put up similar results.

Hasselbeck on this team probably doesn't change this team much either. Without pass protection and a good offensive sheme, he wouldn't have done much different than Bledsoe.

Both teams would be in the playoffs in that situation

Again-who cares? Parcells has coached against MANY teams in his career that had more "talent"-however, he won them b/c of just THAT-he OUT-coached his opponents.

That 2nd Giants Super Bowl where he out-coached a no-huddle offense?

The '90 NFC Title game where he shut down the West Coast O in SF?

How many times did he beat Joe Gibbs in the 80's? And weren't the Skins actually a better team than the Giants?

Anybody? Anyone?

And the bashers can come back out and pretend they were right all along, and they can pretend that if Drew had 4 TDs they wouldn't have said "this game didn't mean anything".

Lol, how true.

Ummm...I believe that was the point I was making.

Sure-we had a brutal schedule. But Parcells has won TWO Super Bowls(and many other brutal games) by just that-OUTcoaching his opponent, even though most of those opponents were said to be superior to his teams.

So why couldn't he do it here?

My lord man his teams were loaded! The teams back then are no comparison to teams now. Top defense every year, top 10 offense every year.

True-however, on paper-Gibbs' Skins, the Great Niners teams, and that no-huddle Buffalo team were actually better than the Giants. But somehow, he managed to construct brilliant game strategies.

I disagree i think his Ginats teams were better than all of those teams save maybe 1990 San fran

Did anyone else notice how this year we had more talent than many teams we lost to, and how we faultered under big games, and how Parcells got his team ready?

Juke said it best in another thread... we folded like a "cheap suit".

Bledsoe... the defense... all sucked.

A choke job of epic proportions after a very good 7-3 start.

Only Juke would fold a suit.

Me thinks BP needs a new phone number, he must have been crosss connected to 1-800-washed-up-30+-myguys-QB. We should have put him on the "Do not call" list.

I knew before I logged on today that there would be some ridiculous "Bledsoe sucks" threads.

I promised myself I wouldn't post in them, ... I promised myself !!

But here I am.

If we made a list of things to fix this year, Bledsoe would be WAAAYYYY down on the list.

If we had had the brightest young star at QB this year, ... or Joe Montana, Dan Marino or Troy Aikman, we would still have had a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE O-Line, a weak running game, no WR's that scare anybody, ( sing it Mick, .. "I can't get no..oo, .. seperation" ) poor safety play, no defensive pressure on the pocket, poor HC leadership.

Did I say a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE O-line.

Sure, Bledsoe did not play well last night, but who did ?

I am not a huge Bledsoe fan, I know he is not the future, and I would LOVE a better QB, but he has not been our problem this season.

I am just being fair about judging him.

After watching some of our performances this year, it amazes me that some always come back to Bledsoe, ... come back to one guy, and rip him apart.

If everyone played their position as well as Bledsoe did, we would be in the playoffs.
