The blocked field goal

Cant explain how our Special Teams is so bad this year after being a top 10 unit last season.. at this point i just hope Sproles doesnt return a TD on us in Thankgiving.

Last week was a block FG due to a lazy block attempt. Had the effort been put in to make the block like Witten's effort to make the tackle its a 14-13 game.
 
I didn't know our special teams unit was terrible. But last week and the blocked field goal were tragedies though. I don't consider it a weak unit though. To consider it a weak unit is like considering our run game weak because of the fumbles.

ST's are really bad except for Dan and Harris(as a gunner). They can't seem to set up the blocks for returns. Harris hasn't done his part but some of the blame goes to blocking. They are not creating that wedge and I don't see it being fixed mid-season, we will have to wait. IMO, our depth moved up a rung and the depth behind them is not so good, that is why the special teams are struggling.

We've had a punt blocked for a TD and 2 FGs blocked. That's bad.

Exactly!

I was going to mention this myself.

No other team in the league has this many blocked FG attempts + a blocked punt for a TD.

They are rare to begin with.

yup....I never liked the Rich Bisaccia hire in the first place. There was a reason he was fired in San Diego. Same thing happened there. Punts being blocked /returned for TDs cost San Diego a playoff spot.

bet you did'nt know he was'nt the special teams coach in 2010 for the chargers, he was in tampa bay at the time. or maybe you did know that
 
Dan Bailey is currently the 19th ranked kicker in the league as measured by kick percentage and should be cut promptly.

The blocker came through the gap between Tyron and Free. Watson #57 (6-2, 240) blew up Doug Free (6-6, 325) and drove him into the backfield. Tyron should have had a better block.
