My knock against this "new NFL" has been vindicated.......
If this SB isn't the poster boy for everything wrong with Free Agency, Salary cap and parity, I don't know what is.
No great players, no superstar's, nothing spectacular. Two teams getting there being the least of all evil's.
I haven't been so bored in all my life. Like watching a Div. 1AA championship game.
We've been conned and fooled folks. It's a sad, sad state of affairs when the best team in the NFL is THESE Indianapolis Colts.
What a joke..........................

This SB, in my opinion, was the worst played game of all time...even the games that were over in the 2nd quarter, like Washington over Denver, were played better than this game.

I think the infamous Blunder Bowl, SB V, will now lose its spot as the worst played SB game of all time...The turnovers, dropped passes, and missed tackles in this SB were absolutely terrible...Guys got hit, but you don't cough up the ball like that in the SB...very sloppy game.

I disagree...There were certainly better teams at the top back before the salary cap, but there also were almost no decent SB's to watch...for years it was blowout after blowout after blowout, probably because the top teams were so good that the minute a bounce or two went their way, it was over. Fans often wondered if there would ever even be a close SB.

After the salary cap, we've seen worse talent at the top because teams are more evenly matched, but the super bowl has been a much better game year in and year out. Tonight the game was marred by fumbles and interceptions...if you look at the guys who fumbled, I wouldn't say it was because of the salary cap...it was a very sloppy, inexcusable game, but the wet weather may have played a role as well.

The salary cap has definitely reduced the talent at the top and created parity, but if the league is watered down, it isn't because of the salary cap but because of expansion...fewer teams would still keep the best players, and there would be more of them on every team if there were fewer teams to work for.

There's good and bad with the salary cap...personally, I like it.

Would've helped had the weather been clear, but I get your point.

And you don't think the constant pouring rain had anything to do with this? Not to bright is ya?

That's football...I won't insult your intelligence the way you did mine, but maybe you are too young to remember "real" football.

Try looking up the championship game between Dallas and Green Bay in 16 below O temperature with players scrapping ice off the turf with their cleats before the play to get a grip...they didn't turn it over.

The game used to be played in mud ankle deep with downpours, and guys did their jobs...it's the superbowl between two top teams...very poorly played game, and yes, worse than the Blunder Bowl.

The SuperBowl SUCKED: I spent more time getting drinks then watching the game....multiple turnovers, the rain didn't help bit there was a drastic lack of excitment after the first 15 second of the game: Maybe its just me..but i had more expectations then this....

Can yo name a difinitive MVP...Peyton Manning was named MVP by default

Amen, the weather was awfull, I do not care if that was the 1966 packers vs the 1993 Cowboys. Anybody who played would have been coughing up the football tonight, do not blame it on parity.

we didnt cough up the ball left and right in the 92 championship game in SF...

in fact on the contrary, our team stepped it up and played an awesome game

Yes, but these kind of games happen, and the weather did not help.Super Bowl V, was played on a clear day, and was one of the of the most poorly played championship games ever played, so do not blame free agency and parity.

How scripted was this game.............the NFL is happy the think they have snowballed the fans........Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy winnning the SUPERBOWL...............

THE NFL is fixing the games....there is to many coicindencse for the math to work out.....

Jeorme Bettis to retire and play and win a superbowl in his home town....?

Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy: to of the biggest chokers in the NFL finally win the superbowl?????

Call me stupid: But ther is to many stars aligning to belive this crap....

Me thinks the NFL is influencing the game........DO NOT FORGET the owner and the leage are in it for the money not the hype,,, its all business just like the players say.............Do you really belive all the NFL league hype............bottom line its about the money

This was definitely the least interested I have ever been while watching a superbowl. I don't know how to describe it, but the end of the game seemed like it was simply the end to another meaningless regular season game between two teams. There simply didn't seem to be much excitement on the Colts sideline nor any real disappointment on the Bears sideline. Probably will go down as one of the lowest rated superbowls of all time.

I don't know....

I think the Ravens/Giants Super Bowl was worse.

But I did quickly lose interest in this game....thanks to Prince.
