Just curious, when do opposing defenses key in on the bootleg? Or is our threat to run always going to keep them honest?

They're about to for sure. That freebie is going to dry up.
Washington played it well last week, but Dak just calmly got the ball to Swaim. Next time, Swaim will be covered, too.
However, you can play that against a defense, too. If they cover for the roll out, they leave holes behind them if you don't roll out.
Playing the bootleg doesn't have anything to do with 8 in the box. Success downfield to multiple receivers will fix that.If that freebie dries up it means the defense is playing honest and Elliot is going for 5-6 ypc

True but they can't just key on Elliott. The backside pursuit has to stay home so that Dak can't get to the edge and that does benefit the Running back
That is true from that perspective. I just want Dak to throw them out of those fronts.
Romo would have put up 50+ points both weeks against those defenses in those fronts.
I love that Dak was able to handle it when WAS read the bootleg...he made something out of nothing at least twiceWashington was on top of it at the end of the game. It won't be as easy going forward.
No worries, when JG runs a play that works, he'll run it over and over and over until he's sure it won't ever work again. They're about to for sure. That freebie is going to dry up.
