It's not the wide recievers fault if he is open and the ball is 5 feet over his head.

T.O. said it best. We have a T.R. problem.

I didn't believe that Romo was the problem. However, I must admit that I have some serious doubts about him moving forward. He was SO accurate, IMO, until this year. Even the 1st half of the Tampa game he was way off. I did wonder if his decission making would improve as he got more playing time, but his accuracy was never a worry for me. I feel today the worst I have felt about this team, franchise and the near future since Aikman went down. Honestly, and I am not an overreaction guy....We have money locked up in a QB that I wonder will ever play at a championship level, and a WR that we just paid a lot of money for that seems to be a number 2. I also wonder if Jerry will ever be able to hire a coach that can really help this team like he did with Parcells. I could honestly see this season going south quickly if we don't get it together very soon, like this Sunday. ps and what the heck is Newman crying about a penalty on Marshall???? Nothing but excuses, and the organization allows that kind of attitude where there is no accountability.

I mean this is pretty much the first game the offense has struggled.

I thought scoring 13 points against a Panther team that had given up 30+ in like their last 6 + games was not very impressive either. Romo's accuracy has me seriously concerned.

You are right. The one thing that Romo had that made up for his gunslinger mentality was ACCURACY.

Romo has been constantly missing open recievers this year, and most of the time badly.

I don't know what has happened to him, but we won't win many games if he continues to overthrow recievers like he has so far.

What's also funny about that play is that Harper and Irvin switched positions before that play. LOL. Actually TOLD Harper he was taking his route while Harper had to take Irvin's route. Which was that slant that won the game for them...

Yes, these WR's WERE average before the Denver game. Now, they are just Wr's. Nothing special. None of them. I would play the young guys more. There is your speed. And god forbid, Why on earth was the "SO CALLED #1 WR" on the SIDELINES on 4th and 2 at the 2? Huh? Someone please explain this crap. I don't care if the guy can barely move, which didn't look like the case. He NEEDS to be out there.

#11 (he has no name any longer, heartless puke) standing on the sidelines, breathing heavy. Standing on the sidelines while they lose. Unbelievable. I am sure there will be some spin as to why he wasn't out there. Turf toe or some other "major" injury. I can't understand it.

I can't understand this team any more. Year after year, it's the same heartless efforts. I hope one day they find "IT". Whatever that may be, but, they have to find it.

Here's to another long week and a long Monday.

I never considered Roy Williams a #1 receiver. He is what he is . . . an often injured complementary #2 receiver.

The real question was, why was Jason Witten, your best pass catcher and the person Romo appears to be most comfortable throwing to (he leads all of our receivers with 23 catches and no one else is close) held back to block on 3rd and 2 and 4th and 2 on the 2 yard line? I could buy into him being held back once, but twice?

That's just poor play calling.

Garrett playcalling and the overall flow of the offense sucked yesterday. A tiger doesn't change his stripes, he called 18 runs and 18 passes in the first half and we had a 10-0 lead. He then goes back to who he is and calls 7 runs and 24 passes in the second half and we lose. Plus the plays called on the goalline sucked, Austin was open on 3rd down. Witten should have been an option in the end zone and not blocking.

Or even worse, they get open and Romo doesn't see them.

The WR's are not the problem, the QB throwing them the ball is. We don't want to believe that, but that's the reality of the situation.

Let's see, Barber was banged up and Felix was inactive. The Denver defense started putting 8 or 9 guys in the box. After awhile you got to start throwing the ball to take advantage of what the defense was doing and to avoid wearing out your one healthy tailback.

Garrett can't throw the ball for Romo.

Very good post. I could just see on some of those misses (Roy coming across the middle for one) that the WR should have SAT down on the route in the zone and the ball would have been right on the money. Or the Austin play where he tries to give Bailey an extra push to create seperation. Only problem was that extra push caused him to be late out of his break and he couldn't see the ball in time. It these small things that ultimately make Romo and the offense look quite bad.

Of course there were some throws the Romo was just off. But not all of them. That throw where RW gets broken up, RW gets hand checked and slows him down a bit. Could've been a flag on the CB because it threw the timing of the route off big time.

You do realize that if Romo hits Williams in stride on that throw over he middle, Williams had a lot of room for the RAC. That was just one of many bad throws. That was all on Romo, as the replay shows ESPECIALLY when they show the close up of him noddig to Roy when Roy is coming back to the huddle. Romo knew that he made a bad throw.

Jerry is not a football guy, he may want us to think that, but he is not.

He's is the President & General Manager. He failed to replace a starter. Hurd & Austin are what they are, undrafted coming out of college for a reason.

I totally agree with your post. We don't have receivers. Our GM failed to address the position via FA or the draft and we are paying for it.

The Garretts are an albatross around the neck of this organization. What kind of crappy job is John Garrett doing when Marty B still has no idea whats going on half the time he is on the field.

Get rid of all the loser Garretts.

We were all happy to tender Austin a contract...

We all screamed that TO forced Romo to throw it to him

We now want a UDFA to start playing for us because our other WR's are too stupid and inexperience...

We read the hype that the two TE formation will cause nightmares for opposing teams...

We convinced ourselves that we dont need a #1 Wr to win a SB....

bottom line.........players have to play better. .....Romo is more accurate...we win this game.....Newman makes a play....we win this game....Spencer gets that int.....we win this game...

It wasnt like we were dominated in our 2 losses......we were close....but we failed to make plays.......especially our million dollar QB.

Lets hope we start making plays.....

Winner winner chicken dinner. Romo is just plain inaccurate rt now. And I'm impressed with Williams even attempting that catch which was 5 feet over his head. Other rec's that have been here wouldn't have even tried.

for sure...but it is bigger than the plays. This offense has ZERO rhythm. This is PRO sports. We should know what we are going to to do when teams decide to stop what we are doing. We are not dictating to ANYONE. They are dictating to us..and we look out of sync, out of rhythm and confused.

What I want to know is why won't Garrett move the pocket around? Why not have Romo run bootlegs to get him out of the pocket and throwing on the run.

Yes we do look confused....and all that jibberish that goes on before the snap has to stop....

I dont know what that is.....or the cause......Is it Romo changing plays?

One thing for certain tho......we are missing leadership on this team....

It seems like the same ole problem......Parcells tried to sell us that if the opposing team tried to blitz....we will make them pay......it never worked and teams continue to dictate us

Now....with this 2TE fromation....we were told to pick your poison....instead....Defenses basically said....were not scared.....

I totally agree. I think opposing dc have found out two things about cowboys play calling: 1. The shotgun draw when this team is inside the 10 is a given. 2. There is not a designed bootleg call in this teams playbook. At least not one I can recall.

Garrett is a good designer of plays. But I don't think he calls a good game.
