I went to the midnight showing last night. I've only seen bits of the first one and none of the second one yet, I really the movie. It has some great action sequences. Basically, two hours of Matt Damon kicking arse.

Go see it!

Greatest movie I've seen all summer. It was brilliantly done, better than Transformers, Pirates, that crap Spider-Man 3....It rocked absolutely.

My advice is to rent the previous 2 to refresh your memory and then go see it. IMO the best of the trilogy.

One of the few trilogies ever where the third is better than the second, the second better than the first, and the first was still amazing.

I liked the first better than the second (haven't seen ultimatum yet). I thought Pirates of the Carribean followed the pattern you mentioned though. As well as the original Star Wars trilogy...though Empire is probably a better made film, I prefer Jedi.

That was the first thing we thought. The first two were pretty close, IMO - but the third left everything in the dust. There were just a ton of moments where you thought to yourself "That was too cool...."

BTW, I highly recommend all 3 of these books. The "Bourne Identity" is still one of the best books I have ever read. All of them are very good, as are Robert Ludlum's other books. I have read them all.

Are you forgetting the Godfather trilogy?

Just got out of seein this one. Unbelievable. I loved how the "cliffhanger" ending from 2 was woven into the story in 3. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it. But I agree... best movie I've seen this summer. I didn't want the trilogy to end.

A lot of people I know that love Ludlums work are not all that happy with the movies. The part about Bourne's wife is one of the big disagreements.

I've read the trilogy there - and this is one instance where the movies are better, I think. Which is relative, because the movies are nothing like the books, not the same storyline or anything.

I think his books got a little too crazy sometimes. For instance, the Bourne Ultimatum book - it's freaking insane, enormous, and there's too much happening. They go to 18 different places around the world, nearly meet the bad guy 15 times, and then finally have it out. By the time I got through it, I couldn't remember half of the stuff that happened in the book. The ending was cool, though. :)

I have to admit Ludlum went over the top on the Ultimatum. I think he felt he had to top the previous two.

I really don't care for this sort of movie -- just not my thing. I like, you know, dialog and stuff.

However, we went last night and I was very impressed -- the weird camera stuff made me a little dizzy but overall it was a very exciting movie. About as good as that genre gets.

I saw the movie and it was a bit hard for me to follow. I missed the 2nd one...Bourne Supremacy... and I was babysitting a 3-yr old. 3 yr-old didn't settle down until about half-way through and then she was snoring.

I liked what I could pay attention to, though.:
