I have to believe they would do a lot more w/ this team than our current head football coach.

I have kept my mouth shut a lot when it comes to Wade. I want him to succeed, I really do, but everytime I look at him when the camera pans to him, i get a sick feeling in the bottom of my stomach.

The 4th quater wasnt even over and I was getting txt messages that we would lose the game.

I held out hope but I knew inside that it was true. We were tied and I knew Dallas wasn't going to win.

Just felt it. The team made a great effort at the end, but why does it always have to come down to the end for them to finally start making things happen.

I just dont understand and Im tired of holding out hope.

Watching Jerry's Cowboys is akin to watching Dante's Inferno: Abandon hope all ye who enter here.

If Jerry continues to act as GM, twelve additional years without a playoff win is not beyond the realm of possibility.

As long as guys like Flo Adams stay on the roster, nothign will change. If you are a rookie and come in and watch him whiff on blocks, get dumb penalties and nothing happens to him, what is your incentive to focus and play a smart game? Flo whiffed on at least one of Romo's sacks today and he still is in the lineup week in and week out? Why? because we have no one to replace him with and he knows it. He is what is wrong with this team, a player with a fat salary with no one breathing down his neck for his job that can play whenever he wants. Until that changes, this team will be filled with guys that point at each other after every stupid play.

I don't about Campo line, but thats who I am thinking of when I see this team. No expectations anymore for me. I still can't help myself and watch this train wreck, but I won't be all that mad because they lost anymore.

I think potentially Romo is done. Now I was never a Romo believer, and unfortunately for me, I decided I will become one this year. I guess my decisions suck :D

Well we know they have runningbacks and tighetends, everything else can use an upgrade, particularly the quarterback position.

I hate to look to Stephen McGee so we'll see what is available next year.

An undrafted free agent from Eastern Illinois isn't cutting it, it was cute for a while, but its time to win.

No sense wasting those good runningbacks.

I think a coaching change will have a positive impact, obviously if a good coach is hired.

I think this team does have talent. Maybe it is overrated, but just a little bit. I think I've seen too many errors - players lining up incorrectly, not knowing the plays, receivers turning wrong or running the wrong route, delay of games - that point more towards a lack of coaching than talent. But, then again, maybe that is on the players. So, who really knows?

I guess if we knew the answers, we'd be in the NFL in a managerial position.

Contrariwise, there were several times when players were in position to make plays but didn't: Spencer's coverage on the TD, Newman's on the Marshall TD, and errant throws by the QB when receivers were open.

The good news is we have a ready-to-promote man on the staff when Wade Phillips' Cowboys dip so far below the Campo Line that Phillips is axed midseason.

That man, of course, being Dave Campo.

The man, the myth, the legend! The person for whom the Campo Line is named.

Oh, happy day!

I think anybody wanting the WCO coaches is crazy because we don't have the O-Line for it. Secondly, I believe this is a 3-4 personnel defense and we can be a great defense with much of this personnel someday. In fact, I thought the defense played pretty well today.

I think there's some chance that a new coach can turn this around. I think the talent is there and I've been happy with the drafts the past 5 years and most of the FA signings. The problem is it's a QB driven league. I won't just rag on Romo, but we are not the greatest pass defense team by any stretch. I think the corners are solid, but not great, but we really need help at safety and we really are not where we should be. Shaky QB play and shaky pass defense = No playoffs.

That's why I'm in favor of Cowher, we won't have to change the O-Line and we won't have to change around personnel for a 4-3 scheme. And maybe he can create a tough running game and better WR play to make Romo into something better. And if not, find somebody new. Say what you will about Cowher, but he had great success with horrendous QB's in Pittsburgh. Then he got a pretty good one in Roethlisberger.

The Campo Line marks a complete lack of consistency.

So, if a team is regularly inconsistent, does that mean they are actually, consistent?

The Dallas Cowboys have officially dipped beneath the Campo Line, which is an entirely subjective and humorous indicator that I've created. In essence, a team dips below the Campo Line when its constituents -- both players and coaches -- take turns performing poorly from week to week. The Campo Line marks a complete lack of consistency.

The Broncos are precisely whom I thought they were. Unfortunately, I'm always refusing to believe that the Cowboys are who they consistently show themselves to be.

Among fans, it's a popular belief that the Cowboys are a dormant juggernaut, and if some hotshot coach could simply find the right switch, the Cowboys would reveal their true talent and proceed to dominate the entire league -- in other words, if the Cowboys could be made to show more consistency, limit their turnovers, and stop committing penalties, they would show us just how great they truly are.

This simply isn't the case;
turnovers, inconsistency, and penalties are hallmarks of mediocre teams, and the Cowboys' record demonstrates their mediocrity: 2-2 this season, and 12-12 in ther last 24 games.

Many fan will be clamoring for the jobs of Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett this week, and goodness knows they deserve as much blame as anyone...well, almost anyone.

But do you honestly believe new coaches will produce different results?

Yup. That's how I see it.

The bottomline is that this team isn't particularly good or bad. They are average. They are mediocre.

For all of the hype about the big OL, they don't take over games. The defense isn't special.

The single most consistent aspect of Romo's game is his inconsistency.

The players are a very likable bunch for the most part. The uniforms are great and the stadium is spectacular.

But, on balance, they are an average team.

Well, one man Jerry interviewed and passed on is doing more with "less"...

Coach Singletary...

isnt that one of the more popular things to discuss here? Coaches that do more with less, etc.

I am just sayin....

It makes me a bit sick when I see the success Singletary is having and think that Jerry turned him down for the job.

Singletary coaches like he played; possessed. He still has that look in his eyes and he gets his team to perform.

Kinda like, oh I don't know, Jerry's first coaching hire? I am sure SF's players are just as scared of Singletary as Dallas' players were of Jimmy.
