I have no doubt Big Mac is capable. But the responsibilities of being an OC are so big, to also be a HC with all its responsibilities is not the best of circumstances. For that reason alone, I would be against Big Mac taking over as OC and playcaller.

More and more college and pro HCs who have called plays and been the centerpiece of the offense have been stepping aside as playcallers and OCs because of the enormity of being a head coach. Being responsible for all aspects of the team, not just the offense, means the HC needs to be freed up to work with all aspects of the team.

Im glad to see Moore go. I just want to see someone besides McCarthy as OC.

Here's what so many people get wrong, Kellen Moore is a Scott Linehan disciple! Totally different from Jason Garrett. Jason Garrett is a Jimmy Johnson/Norv Turner disciple. People got so angry at Garrett because they thought he ran the ball too much so Scott Linehan was brought in and then we started Passing too much, Linehan is the reason Kellen Moore is here.

Here's what so many people get wrong, Kellen Moore is a Scott Linehan disciple! Totally different from Jason Garrett. Jason Garrett is a Jimmy Johnson/Norv Turner disciple. People got so angry at Garrett because they thought he ran the ball too much so Scott Linehan was brought in and then we started Passing too much, Linehan is the reason Kellen Moore is here.

I don't know if Moore will go, but I think we need a new OC as Moore still runs the Garrett offense, which has long been figured out. Mike McCoy would give our offense a fresh take, and one that typically works. Combine that with a Dan Quinn defence, and I think we would have a top team, especially if we get some more receiving weapons and a NT.

Perhaps, but Moore has been figured out by teams. I think McCoy, either way, would give us a new take on our offense, and I think he can fix Dak as QBs are his specialty.

I think the answer, especially if it's Mike McCoy, would be yes. Think about it. Firstly, the acquisition of Amari Cooper in 2018 had massive change implications for our offense that year. Our defence changed drastically when we got Quinn and Micah Parsons. So, I think a fresh set of ideas could help give Dak some new ideas and have a similar effect to what Quinn has meant for our defence. In the meantime, we'd probably draft a QB between rounds 2-4 to develop for a few years while Dak starts with an OC who has a long track record of having QBs being his specialty. Id get a NT, QB, WR, and RB in the draft in my first 4 picks, and then have Mike McCoy basically do what Quinn has done with the defence.
