I know..

I know..

Defense.

But several things say offense to me.

We all know the NFC East is going to be a dogfight in 2017.

We are not going to be able to rebuild this defense and upgrade enough after losing 4 more starters.

At 28..we will not get a bone fide pass rushing essential.

My gut tells me we need to solidify the holes on offense to score more points than last year.

Produce more big plays in the passing game to match the Jints and Iggles and their improvements.

The draft is deep in DL and secondary candidates we can take in the 2nd rd. on.

I think all this talk of defense is just a smokescreen.

Like last year..everybody was saying draft a QB #1 to find Romo's backup and we drafted Zeke..nobody saw that coming really.

Dallas never showed their hand.

Lucky for us.

I would like to see us draft another pass catching TE to run 2 TE sets from or a speed burner WR opposite Dez to spread the field.

Opinions?

Well I hope they are open for anything, if a player falls that is worth the pick on offense, then just go with that.

It would be hard to turn down Ross or OJ.

Totally depends who is still on the board. I believe if the right player(s) fell, WR and TE are definitely in play at 28.

I wouldn't mind Howard or Njoku in the first round. Howard will probably be long gone at pick 28.

Yep.

Evans is OK too at TE.

I just think that with all the talk about possibly 4 QBs going in the 1st rd..

and with all the defensive talent in this draft being drafted early..

that floats some very decent offensive talent to the top of the heap.

Why do we have go all-out to win the East in 2017 to the detriment of future years?

Why do we draft defensive guys like Smith who is injured or DL who have had drug use problems and 'fall to us' only to not play from suspension.

We just let Carr and Claiborne go for underachieving as well as the safties.

Thats not to the detriment of the future?

Hmm..

Our strength is offense..

defense is secondary.

We are not known for defensive drafting since Parcells.

Now if you draft me Jabril Peppers I would be ecstatic as he also returns punts and Beasley could just play offense.

But don't think he will last to 28.

I don't get your angle here. Could you better clarify why we need to win in 2017 so badly? Or don't, I'm not going to badger you.

If a highly rated offensive player falls and is just too good to pass up? Sure.

Draft offense because we need to fill holes on offense because we can't fix defense quickly and we need to win the east by scoring more points? Uh, no.

WR is completely in play in Davis/Ross miraculously fall. They'd be BPA and I'd even say we SHOULD take them.

Howard is one of, if not my most favorite players in this draft....I don't see any way he gets past Cleveland @ #12, but I would be thrilled....I like Njoku a lot as well, but I think there will be better defensive players than him @ #28 although he intrigues the crap out of me....no WR's are worth it to me now that they signed that doofus Williams - they can't play 3 WR's, Witten all at the same time, let alone another WR

If we take Williams, Davis, Ross, OJ, or Njoku at 28 I won't be upset at all...unless an obvious defender falls as well. I don't want to force a DE or CB if all of the elite 1's are gone. BPA on WR or TE shouldn't upset anyone

Te would because he would hardly even play.

Witten can't play forever...plus I'd take OJ and Njoku over Brice Butler in 4 wide packages any day. Not being an immediate day 1 starter is a poor excuse to not draft a superior prospect anyway, that's how you reach for a bust
