The catch!

I played and coached for about 40 years. I never took a game for granted, not even scrimmages. You sweat, bleed, train, etc...they ALL count. Anyone that diedoes think so I either a loser or just plain ignorant to what players and coaches put into the game.

Going to need some proof of that. It easy to just make up stuff on the web.

I’m glad Jason had Dak play the entire game. And honestly, I saw something kinda click with Dak in the middle of the 4th quarter. Everything seemed to just look right about him.

Yeah, we know about Dak and his 4th quarter heroics. This though just seemed different. Different in that it was more efficient than it was lucky, if that makes since.

In football, luck plays into the equation, but when you’re getting it right, it has a smooth look to it. I saw that with Dak. And I’m hoping this confidence plays out in our Wild Card game next Sunday.
He got better and better as the game went on.

I respectfully disagree. The reason is because you got to put this game and play into context. First the game. The game wasn't meaningless because Dallas needed to gain some confidence offensively. They did that with scoring points with players not named Cooper and Elliott. That in itself is significant going into the playoffs. Now the play. 4th and 15 on the road against a solid defense and we're down to 3rd string offensive lineman. Do or die play. Dak has already put together half of the drive. The protection breaks down, Dak scrambles, makes a strong throw and Beasely catches it. Put a 2 point conversion in there and we walk out winners. Dak just won almost with no protection on a 4th and 15. Moving forward in his career and this year to the playoffs that play was so clutch that it could be a defining moment. What I'm saying is the old Cowboys would have just gone through the motions and accepted their defeat but the theme of "everyone is healthy for playoffs" would have been the talk of the positives from the game. That's loser talk. We got winners on this team and Dak showed his competitiveness and ability on that play. And his teammates know that they got a leader in #4 that can make these impossible plays. I truly don't believe in a meaningless win. Especially a win in a 2 minute drill on a desperation play that 99% of the time is a game ending play. This team didn't quit the whole game and this play was symbolic of the game cuz everything was set up for us to fail and Dak and Beasely grabbed a victory out of the jaws of defeat. That momentum will help us in the playoffs.
I get it and agree with everything you said minus the catch. I don’t think whether Beasley caught it or not would have any bearing on how they’ll play next week. If Beasley dropped it do you think he would start dropping more passes than usual next week? Would Dak stop making great throws all of the sudden just due to Beasley dropping the ball?

Whatever though, we can respectfully agree to disagree, it’s over. We won due to a catch that apparently determined how we will play next week and the Giants moved up 4-5 draft spots. It’s a win win for both fan bases, that must be a first.

I also find it ironically and hyporitcal how many people tried to turn the Colts loss into a positive by saying things like “it didn’t matter, it wasn’t even a conference foe” or “they needed this so they’ll come out angry”. Now if Beasley didn’t catch it and we lost we would have lost all that momentum, erased 59 minutes of good offensive play and would have been doomed against Seattle

Tell you right now, I think we’ll beat the hell out of Seattle and whether Beasley caught that ball or not wouldn’t have mattered in the slightest.

I sent film to some of the friends I have made here. There are also a few posters that are from my area and known who I am. I really dont need to prove it to anyone else.

Wait a minute.... I thought Dak couldn't throw deep and hit his target... At least that's what people kept saying.... HMMMM

Cole Beasley is very much that "little engine that could"...AND I would argue, the heartbeat of the wr corp. Amari is a freaking beast, but COLE is the glue. Just when you forget all about him, he shines the brightest. Yesterday embodies all of this 1000%.

he missed 2 EASY wide open deep balls yesterday. BUT THAT SAID...he blossomed when it mattered most. He is getting better and better. We forget how young he is.

Dak has to be flawless this week against Seattle or we are 1 and done. Wilson will be locked and loaded.

Well first of all, I never said it was “good” to lose. All I ever said was a) I couldn’t care less about the catch in this game b) I had mixed feelings because that catch just gave the Giants the 6th overall pick which I’m guessing would have been 10th or worse had they won and c) I don’t believe that if we lost due to that pass and catch that 59 minutes worth of “momentum” would have been lost.

People get their panties in a wad over such ridiculous things. I didn’t enjoy watching the Giants move up a few draft spots due to one catch that we made, so what? I guess I’m not a “real” fan. “Real” fans are reserved only for those that want us to tank after a few losses, constantly bash our QB after every misthrow, never criticize our RB or say he’s not the best, talk about how much we suck and will never win a playoff game after getting shut out by the Colts...those are the real fans and at least one of those things applies to about 90% of the posters here. I could go on but it’s pointless, I’ll have to wait until we lose our 2nd playoff game to complain about JG, Dak and whoever else is the whipping boy that day.
you aren't ..... you are always complaining

this is Seattles first 3 plays Come Saturday: Russell Wilson boot leg option, then a draw, then a screen to the rb in the flat. Watch out for Rashad Penney in this game.

It is the Playoffs ..... you have to bring it every game

SEA is a lot different on the road

Right now all I care about is Beasley getting back to the player whom Dak was able to get the ball to so they can move the chains. I think Beasley can be a key contributor in these playoffs. He has been dealing with a sprained foot since the New Orleans game and looks to be 100% healthy again. Dallas will need him to step up

Why hasn't anybody talking about that Beasly catch?? BSPN and Fox is showing that leaping Giant TD...
Ball looks for sure like its overthrown...but no!
One of the best catches of the year

That final drive and ending catch (and pass) gave a meaningless game some meaning...imo.

It'd be epic if it happened in the playoffs

Think if Crayton made that catch to win it vs the Giants in 2007 playoffs
Or Dez made the catch (he did, actually) in 2014 playoffs to maybe eat GB

Team game

Yep. It was his usual game as far as missing a few open receivers. But I loved what I saw over all. He showed he can play. Missing 3 or 4 of his starting O-Line and no Elliot. He threw 4 TDs and no picks. Found his TE which is huge going forward for this Offense. Still taking a few sacks he don’t need to. But getting better. Linehan needs to call more designed roll outs for him.

Our Defense has fallen off a bit. They need to step up and stuff the run this week.

That’s the pot calling the kettle black. Who predicted we would make the playoffs half way through the season when several others were already saying we were screwed? Who said we would lose one, max two games, right before the Atlanta game when many others were saying we would lose the majority of our games? Who said we would win one playoff game and probably lose the second? I’ll give you a hint because you need it. It’s one of us and I’m not talking about you Mr Positive.

I don’t get over emotional due to a win or even several wins and and I don’t over react to a dropped ball, missed pass, a couple bad calls, a loss, etc like several here do (playoffs being the exception). After the Colts game it was all doom and gloom then we beat one of the worst defenses in the league and all of the sudden we’re Super Bowl contenders. Hell, even in yesterdays live game thread people were saying how we had no chance in the playoffs during the first quarter but by the fourth quarter it was all rainbows and unicorns. It’s pathetic, some of you need to keep it real and get a grip.

BTW, I’ve said several positive things about LVE, Jaylon, our O line and even Garrett up until the Houston game but I’m warming back up to him. So get your facts straight or keep your mouth shut or preferably put me on ignore.

OMG...you said several positive things...... who knew???
People who don’t cherry pick my posts like you. Funny, someone else just told me in another thread they wish they were as positive as I am with regard to the Seattle game. Troll someone else loser.
