The CBs we have are just fine

I remember how stoked everybody was a few years ago when our top 3 corners were Awuzie, Brown and Lewis. Then Garrett screwed up and brought it that Seahawks reject coach Kris Richard in and ruined everything. What did Richard accomplish? Turning Byron Jones into an over-achiever at the expense of the rest of the secondary? Really? Watch Jones flop in Miami.

McCarthy came in and figured out that our secondary situation was mismanaged and poorly coached more than it was about some talent deficiency. Of course, safety is a different matter. Trade up in the second round if we have to and get the McKinney kid.

But like I said, the CBs are just fine.

They downgraded at de and cb and the draft wasn't going to change that. They can get players they still need big time though.

You lost a top 10 CB and have nothing to replace him with and even WITH him the secondary was not great. Let me just reiterate that: they had a guy locking down a section of the field and making the job easier for them and they STILL could not be very good. Now they do not have that. The secondary is a disaster.

BJones wasn't top 10 in the red zone or on crucial 3rd downs when stops were a must. Coaching was a disaster.

He gave up pretty much nothing every game all year. He averaged something like 30 yards allowed per game and QBs were generally awful throwing at him. I mean yes 30 is not 0, but that is why he is top 10 and not top 1 and even the top 5 CBs still give up yards.

Damn I want whatever OP is drinking

Take off your blue and silver shades and realize we got a bunch of bums that roam our secondary

I think Chido has been another bust and I am no fan of Woods. My primary issue though is the contracts. Based on the current status I think only Brown is locked up. The rest of the starters/nickel are all up next season. How do you turn a secondary over in one season? It’s a problem.

I like the CB's we have but we NEED 1 more. There are a couple of good options in this draft, it's not a problem.

Our defense was also bend but don't break. Now we have an aggressive scheme. Lets try to get the offense more chances with the ball. Getting quick leads on offense will do wonders for the defense.

What? 2017 was the fist year of Brown, Awuzie and Lewis.

Awuzie was injured most of the year, Brown flipped sides and struggled but Lewis at least looked good.
2018 Lewis was a bench warmer and Jones excelled at corner.

No one was ever excited when our top 3 corners were ABL,

If you are going to play a "We must draw the line here, this far no further" style of defense you need to have an elite secondary (consistent approach), or have an elite pass rush (feast-famine) approach. The Cowboys had neither, and as of yet have neither.

I still think we should sign Logan Ryan. He's really good.

We covered WR3 in the draft. We can get a good safety in round 2.

I like a lot of the CBs still remaining in the draft and I'll be excited if we get a good one, but nobody left will have the impact immediately that Ryan would.

We really need cb talent both short and long term but there is a real chance there are higher rated positions when we get to our pick round 2. If so, I hope they don’t draft a cb just because it is the biggest position of need.

I don't like spending on CBs much.

We've got 3 ok guys, and an upgrade at S. I'd like a SS.

I'm more concerned at RDT. We lost Collins and Bennett. We picked up McCoy. We were light on pass rushing DTs, and we're even lighter now. I hope we can get one with the next pick.

I think we go a little later for CB, and try to get a starter for next year on the cheap.

I think FA is in their backpocket for corner. You also got Dre Kirkpatrick who at least would be a solid corner for a year if need be.

IIRC Ryan wants more than what he's worth, a la like Clowney.
