I had Androids my entire life and switched to iphone. It's not even worth debating in my personal opinion. I think it just depends on the person.
It's much faster, not glitchy, great audio/video, the battery lasts forever and charges quickly. The camera is ridiculously great. I love that you can text using WiFi. My sis has an older iphone, I think a 6 or 7 and it still performs great. I got tired of the droids getting slow in a couple of years. So while it's more expensive, it will last longer so you're not really saving anything. Not to mention that I use it constantly for work and it hasn't disappointed once. The price is relative. The best Androids are just as expensive.
Thanks for that info, I've never had anything in the smartphone except a Blackberry for one day. Tried typing on that and took it back for an iPhone 4, I think it was. Had a Razor flip before that.

I was on the Apple train until my last two products, the HomePod and Pro ear buds that quickly went from a little less than 3 hours of battery life to barely 2 now. The HomePod has turned into nothing more than an OK all bass driven speaker and it's just a matter of time before they don't support it any longer since they dumped out of it, unless keeping that mini one going keeps that from happening.

The Android v IPhone is like boxers v briefs except now they're both so big you can't hide them in your briefs. Boxers still works as long as you can tape it to your hip. Don't ask me how I know.

I had a Blackberry and it was awful trying to type. Not that the newer ones are perfect, but a little better. I loved my flip-phone. Small and rugged. Casio Rock I think.

Maybe they will come out with a "Smart Jitterbug"

The wife and I started with the Iphone (after she had the motorola razor flip phone which still is a sharp looking phone).

I was ok with it for the most part. I did NOT like that you had to use Itunes program to move stuff into or out of your phone even if you wanted a simple ring tone from zedge. I also did not like when you would rip cds through Itunes although you would see the name and artists, if you have to export them later you found out they changed everything to jiberish...it still worked but if you looked in some folders there would not be names per say but just random letters.

I did not like at the time that you could not change the battery yourself without voiding warranty. Did not like that you did not have a Micro SD slot. To this day if a phone does not have a micro SD Card option I will not even entertain buying it.

I did LIKE that apple was not beholden to any other company nor any specific carrier so when they had an IOS Update you did not have to wait various times depending on what phone brand you had and what carrier you had. However with that said if they screwed up an update, it was for all phones due to not having others having a chance to work some of the bugs out.

We switched to android and I have not looked back since. Wife hated it immediately so she went back to iphone and has not looked back. This was when we first had the iphone 4 and then switched to the samsung galaxy three so it has been some time. Every since that point I have went with the Note series as they tend to have some better specs.

Although samsung did a couple of things I hated, like taking out the ability to easily open the back and replace a battery (although I don't know why as I never had to replace one) and taking away the headphone jack as I just hate blue tooth head phones. But they still have the SD Card and I am a tad ocd when it comes to backing up stuff. I have music backed up on multiple SD cards and a couple of computer hard drives.

I like how android system can let you easily move files from one phone to another, from a computer to your phone or the reverse without having to go through a proprietary program like Itunes.
I love that android gives you so many options to change this or that. Multiple themes, backgrounds, icons and is so customizable which is something I love to noodle around with when I am bored.

I did not care for the cameras at one time on samsung but I LOVE the one I have now. It is pretty amazing to me. I currently have the Note 20 Ultra 5G and Samsung really has upped their game when it comes to phones.

Now I hate messing with Iphones. Sometimes the wife asks me to do something on her phone or her mother's phone when there is a problem and I hate messing with them. Something as simple as a back button missing is just a pain in the butt to me.

I also just shake my head when Apple is showing off their newest phone or computer line and the major update or reason to buy it is because it comes in a different color or variety of colors. Really? That is your major selling point? And sadly it works. I have seen people that have to go out and buy an iphone because it is red, even if it means paying for an inferior product. I don't know you would just buy the better phone and just put a red case on it.

As far as privacy goes...If you think Iphone vs Android is that big of a difference...I got some ocean front property to sell you here in WV. They both have issues...almost anything with a sim card has issues. You can get some non andorid and IOS phones out there that are geared toward privacy that will have different OS like Cryptodata. There are however a niche market so the aftermarket products and app stores will be limited.

In the end if you like one phone system over the other...make yourself happy and screw what any other person says. You, hopefully, are not buying phone to make others happy.

It would be nice if we had some American made products.

I have had both android and iPhone. I don’t get the debate. They both allowed me to do the things I need my phone for. They all hold contacts, text, make phone calls, have maps, play games, surf the Internet, etc.

Nobody has to be a snob about their cell phone.

My phone was dying, so I just got a Google Pixel 4A with 5G. Oh man, it's awesome! Going from 2 gb RAM to 6 gb is such an upgrade.

It's hardware is very similar to the Pixel 5 only instead of 8 gb ram it has 6, it doesn't have wireless charging, and the screen refresh rate is 60 fps and not 90. Because of that it was $200 less which makes it so worth the sacrifice.

Android all the way for me. I cannot stand ANY Apple products. I have never understood the hysteria around all things Apple. My wife and daughter both have iPhones while my son and I have Androids. Now that my daughter is no longer home my wife comes to me all the time to fix her phone when issues arise and it drive me crazy

Edit: It just came to mind that the show Ted Lasso is on Apple TV. We watched that on the free trial a while back and it was a GREAT show so I have to admit I like one single Apple product.

Same here, except I keep getting calls from a guy named Spam. I keep refusing to answer. You imagine how twisted some guy named after canned meat might be? And probably blames me.

I did sign up to receive obscene phone calls, you don't think that's what he keeps trying to do, do you? I specifically selected Nasty Women, All Races but who would name a girl Spam?

Hell, I don't even name my cans of Spam, Spam. I prefer more festive names like Dasher, Donner, Cupid, Blitzen, Crystal and Tiffany.
I put everyone I do biz with, doctors, stores, family, on my contact list - and if any number comes up that is either private or has no name from my list, I ignore it. The secret is to have voicemail DISABLED so all those idiots get is "no voicemail" and a disconnect by my phone provider so I don't even need to listen to the jerks/ :flagwave: :muttley:
