The current challenge for Cowboys fans (besides the fact that our beloved team is underperforming our expectations) is maintaining objectivity and seeing things for how they really are:

1. Our team is underperforming our expectations. WHY that is the case is the subject of legitimate debate.

2. The team has drafted well lately and has assembled some legitimate talent. In fact the Cowboys have over performed their peers in this category over the last 5 years or so. The under performing of the team as a whole doesn't change that. It also doesn't let the team off the hook for under performing.

3. We haven't sucked for 22 years. In fact we have experienced exceptional years in two out of the last 5 years. That doesn't let the team off the hook for underperforming now, but it's a fallacy to pretend the team does nothing right.

4. Dez was not part of the solution. He needed to go and all of the gnashing of teeth over watching him go by the Dez Fan Bois doesn't change the fact that 1. He under performed his entire second contract, 2. He was at best a distraction 3. The team tired of his antics 4. It was best for the team to move on from him and 5. So far 31 other teams seem to agree it was the right move.

5. The OL has sucked pretty much this entire year. Dak has under performed. The coaches have really laid an egg. With all of these issues, it is pretty hard to evaluate how much of the failures are attributable to each issue.

6. I'm as disappointed as any of you on this forum in the results of this season. But at least try to maintain some semblance of reasonability in your bashing of the team.

Well for those fans that struggle with reasonability.......FO.

That simple. There, I have given you the one and only answer. I hope you all pass your tests!

You play Philadelphia and Washington in your next 3 games. You could very plausibly be in first place by the end of november. This was a bad loss at a bad time, but you still very much control your destiny.

Use the rest of the season to fully evaluate the team as simply just "another" team rather than "our Cowboys" to look at it better unbiased rather than a biased viewpoint.......even the biggest of homers can't possibly think this team can do anything this season. This team has more holes than a soaker hose.....Our HC is more part of the problem than the solution.

Yes. But none of the extremists on this board will even want to consider that fact.

How much is this really related to Dak? They removed him and aren't any better. In fact, they are worse.

6. I'm as disappointed as any of you on this forum in the results of this season. But at least try to maintain some semblance of reasonability in your bashing of the team.

Take each point, one by one:

1) Team is underperforming. There really is little debate as to why this is happening. Only those who are clinging to past fanboi logic are struggling with this at this point.

2) The team's talent is overrated. Certainly not as bad as 3-5 but not like one of the better teams it the league.

3) We pretty much have sucked for 22 years. Even in the two "exceptional" years in the last five, the results were minimized by failing to reach the NFC Title game in one of those years and then getting bounced as a home favorite in the first round.

4) Dez was not part of the solution. But he wasn't the problem either despite you screaming that week after week.

5) It's actually quite easy to attribute blame here. The majority of the blame falls on the coaches and QB. It's really that simple. All you are doing is showing that you are incapable of making the hard call here, incapable of admitting reality, incapable of admitting you might be wrong. So let's play the game where it's everyone's fault, therefore it's no one's fault type of logic.

6) Semblance of reasonability? What a joke. How about you exhibit some acceptance of reality and not try to make yourself feel better by claiming the roster is really talented (it's not), that the coach isn't as bad as people think he is (yes he is), the QB isn't that bad (yes, he is), that the run under Jerry for the past 22 seasons hasn't been that bad (yes it has).

That's because the team hasn't show anything that should rightfully give anyone confidence it is a realistic possibility, outside of the standard belief that anything is possible (however unlikely). We're not talking about a tested group of players accustomed to winning that just need to get on the right track. Many believed the team was crap entering the season and the team has done nothing but solidify that belief.

Cooper and Gallup are both better than 2018 Dez.

Which doesn't refute my point. Dez wasn't the big problem with this offense despite the Dak fanboys claiming he was.

He's no longer worth the $. He'll probably join a loaded Saints team and go win a Super Bowl, which should make those of you who still love him happy.

Dez and Dak didn't click, so he had to go. Doesn't change the fact that Dak is not good enough to start 16 games in the NFL but that's where we are.

Again, it doesn't change the point.

The offensive issues this team has now faced over two seasons had little to do with Dez. It's becoming clear who the issues were behind an inconsistent offense and it wasn't Dez.

Well how objective is hearing the owner state Dak is getting a contract extension, and knowing they blew a first rounder and a big salary on Cooper? What options do they really have now? This ship was sinking, and now our captain threw away our life vests, then tied our life boats to the stern taking all of the crew and passegeners down with it. What the hell do you want people to think of that? “Let’s remain calm and collected ladies and gentlemen...”

Loooool!! What horsecrap. You know darn well this club is finished, and are just trying to comfort and make comfortable the hospice patient. It was over at 1-2. They can’t even stop TEN on a 15 play TD drive now at home. They’ll be lucky to finish with 7 or 8 wins...and probably will just to spite the draft position. It’s sooooo Dallas.
