The changes in Tony Romo have made the difference.

His hat has absolutely zero to do with his play this or any other season. It is absurd to insinuate that it does.

He has matured because he has finally played enough games against enough defenses, that he understands better now what it takes to win in the NFL. Being in his third season in Garrett's offense with primarily the same offensive team mates is a big help too.

Finally, his understanding that a sack or a throwaway is infinitely better than an interception is the cherry on top of the mature Tony Romo.

What he wears... not so much.

'Drunken Ninja Master' is also good. No idea why I mixed my ninja metaphor with my Angry Unicorn metaphor just now. Must be tired. Everybody knows ninjas don't attack with horns.

Come to think of it, 'Angry Rhetorical Unicorn' makes a pretty good user tag, too. So hard to decide.

I'd say that was more of an Elephant Walk than a circle-jerk. You can Elephant Walk with just two people, can't you?

I think Keith Brooking is the reason for what we've accomplished so far.

He has completely transpired the defense. We've all said we needed leadership and fire, and he has brought that.

This is not to downplay Romo's play, he's been phenomenal. But our defense is the reason we've been winning.

Maybe he has helped transform them too.

I love Romo's development and increased maturity.

He is a big reason the team is playing so well.

But he's not the only one:

-- The development of Anthony Spencer and Mike Jenkins is huge. They have helped turn this defense from good to very, very good.

-- The addition of Keith Brooking has added leadership and emotion to a defense that needed an alpha male.

-- The development of Miles Austin has given Romo a dependable big-play threat. His ability to run after the catch scares the crap out of defensive coordinators.

-- The special teams have improved with the arrival of Joe DeCamillis.

-- With the exception of Colombo and Hamlin, the team has remained fairly healthy.

-- Gerald Sensabaugh is an upgrade.

-- The team's entire personality changed with the exit of guys like Owens, Adam Jones and Tank Johnson. Especially Owens. His departure cleared the way for Romo and others to exert their influence and leadership.

Agree with everything you say here, Chief, I was only looking at Romo, you covered the rest of the team pretty well.

As far as the backwards caps go, it must be a generational thing; I retired five years ago and I never see anyone my age wearing their cap backwards or their pants draggin' low. I guess there's not very many of us geezers trolling for young chicks. Do dentures and hearing aids count as bling-bling?

Our idea of an ATV is an electric wheel chair with mud flaps.

One of the biggest differences that I've noticed ON the field is that he tucks the ball when defenders are around him....he's REALLY made an effort to protect the ball and it's shown this year in the # of INT's as well.

I think another thing he has done is look to the intermediate routes first and then look long. This has allowed him to get the ball out quicker which also has helped reduce the number of fumbles he has lost this year.
