Didnt the Jets say that they were going to fire their GM? If so I think Rex gets shown the door. Just my opinion

Wow! That one would surprise me.

Don't know on Jets. Have heard J-ville and Cleveland for GM fires. I think KC is headed there too and Pioli goes to J-Ville.

Does anybody think Mike Zimmer finally gets a head coaching job?

I think he's a candidate for several of them. He deserves his shot, frankly.

To be brutally honest Turner should have gotten the boot several years ago.

That team had as much talent as any in the NFL and underacheived almost every year.

Smith is another one that should have gone earlier.

People make a big deal about not giving coaches enough time; but stay silent about the ones that linger with no justification.

I think Gruden coaches next year.

I think he goes to Jets. Maybe back to Cali for Chargers.

Turner shouldn't have been hired in SD in the first place. They let go of a good coach because he didn't get along with their GM, and then had no reasonable replacement available.

It's true that both some coaches get let go too early and too many retreads are given multiple chances they don't deserve. The league would be better served firing more slowly in general and then not having so many teams in positions where they need to reach for retreads to try to buy legitimacy.

The owner wants to hire a new GM and move the current GM to Salary Cap Manager.

No Garrett? I don't think he gets axed, but he still deserves to be in the conversation especially if the Cowboys totally tank tonight.

Turner to the Chargers
Phillips to the Cowboys.

Two mistakes!

They both were, huh? In Dallas' case, I think we really were caught by surprise by Parcells retirement. There really were slim-pickings out there at that point. But, yeah. Generally, I'd rather see coaches get 3-4 years to implement plans and have more quality assistants get their shots than they do right now. It's really tough when the QB really is the difference between success and failure for a team. Awfully hard to build around I high pick who turns out to be a bust. It makes the job Harbaugh's done in SF and that Carroll's done in SEA (in pulling a rookie starter from the 3rd round) all the more impressive, frankly.

I will make one, and only one bold prediction.

Andy Reid will remain head coach of the Eagles.

That would be their best move, Tannenbaum is a big numbers guy but the only shot the Jets have at not being a circus is Johnson losing the team. He's an Al Davis/Jerry type in the making

Jerry was going to lose Parcell's a year earlier. Paid him extra to stay.

Should have brought Garrett in sooner!!
