The complaint last year was that we lost too many players!

They intentionally did nothing last year to set McCarthy up to fail so they could start over with a new and younger coaching staff this year. Now they are starting to do something. They are bringing in players to fight it out in camp to make the team.
LOL

Those are good thoughts well said ,I figure we are about the same in roster depth with players added and players lost.Dallas will miss Jourdan Lewis and a healthy Demarcus Lawrence .The draft needs to be an A plus with these positions DT WR CB DE LB G RB .
That's not happening.

totally agree!!

This team puts itself in that position every year and it never happens.

Then it’s ‘oh well,’ and on to the next year with no consideration for change whatsoever.
I know it's a sad state of affairs wanting your team to win and knowing that ownership has no clue how to win.I like this coaching staff ,Dallas needs an A plus draft and a whole lotta luck with Ol Jerry and Son in charge.

We all remember how many players we lost last season, Armstrong, Pollard, Tyler Biadz, etc etc, and we didn't replace them. History repeats itself, we lose D-law, J Lew, Gholston etc, are we going to complain this year about those players not being replaced, or was it time for them to go???? Please give your thoughts.

"are we going to complain this year about those players not being replaced?"

The issue is always that there is a net loss of talent. This year and last have seen a lot of players leave and replaced with inferior players. It's hard to compete with the active front offices in Philly and (now) Washington with this strategy.

Jumping ship is what rats do when it's sinking.

The real complaint could be that Jerry fudged last season, when he had the ideal opportunity to make a definitive decision:
a) All-IN - behind the GB team and enhance in FA.
b) Trade away: Dlaw, Osa, Martin, J-Lew (for draft capital) and reset the CAP, allowing Dak to play out the contract. One year off, and come back with a decent draft haul.....and possibly re-signing Dak, after seeing how he coped with a lesser roster.

We took the worst of both options: didnt retool, allowed the roster strength to dwindle to nothing (meaning we're starting from a low start point) and 'that contract' meaning instead of one year of irrelevancy, we take 2+.
