Witten and Ware are worthy. both Hall of Famers
the core of this team has BEEN done....i posted this last year and was shredded...tearing this thing down is 2 years past due...
Getting rid
I'm not sure that they were done, but it was clear that they faced diminishing returns in the near future. Unfortunately, it gets harder to start over, every time we add more dead cap money onto their aging backs to simply make payroll. The core 3, (average age 32), now have almost $50 million in dead cap money allotted to them in 2014..... $50 million.
ITT: Garrett fanboy wants our best players gone so a new coach can't come in and win with them, thus showing how mediocre/bad RJ was.
That's just sad.
This is just so hilarious and the stench of hypocrisy is strong... I thought the team fights for Garrett.. Now, it's the players fault for giving up on him? Lol....
Is that why we physically couldn't keep up with those teams?
It's sad that you didn't read my first post, you could learn something from the OP.
I'd put money down that if a "real NFL" coach came and coached these same players the results would be the same.
You guys like to point to Harbaugh, Carroll, and Reid but I'd argue that they have have more talented teams than us.
As fans of the Cowboys it's hard to be objective about your own team and where they measure up to other teams, but I try to be as objective as possible and I see these other teams with better personnel than us.
You could take a page from Risen Star's book, he was right about fans seeing their own team through the rose-colored glasses.
Oh man, you cannot be so Jason Garrett blinded, the guy seems like a great guy but he is a mediocre coach, no if's or but's about it.
Harbaugh would never take a job under Jerry Jones ... never. Frankly any coach worth anything will stay as far away from this franchise as possible until Jerry steps away as the GM.
It's not that at all, I'm just past the point that another HC is just going to take these group of players and make them into winners.
LOL, I did read the OP. Didn't learn anything new from it. You somehow blame some of our best players for this team's failings. That alone makes little sense, but then you tie it back to Parcells. Never mind how many times it's been touted that Garrett has turned over and improved the roster from 2010 alone, much less 2006 when Parcells was here.
Let me ask you, when Phillips was here were you preaching that coaching doesn't matter, that it's 100% players on the team? Didn't think so.
It is hilarious how you want to lecture me about objectivity when you're the one who can't be objective about your favorite coach.
What I don't get is why it's so hard for some people to admit they're wrong. We're all wrong about things. I was sure that Marcus Spears was going to be a great player. Guess what? He was average as can be. I was way wrong on him, and I freely admit it. Amazingly, my self-worth remains intact and life carries on.
How many more coaches is it going to take?
I'm definitely wrong about JG...there is no doubt about it. I thought he could turn them around but this same group of players has had three different head coaches with the same results. What else do you need to see?
I just hope that the next guy gets to build his team from the ground up and doesn't get stuck with anyone he doesn't want.
It might take only one head coach if Jerry would put his damn ego aside and stop hiring puppets and go back to the formula he had when he bought the team in 89 and hire a solid HC and allow them to make all the football moves.
Cool beans.
The only thing I'd say is that every team has talent.
Parcells even found some players in the wreckage when he got here, and they weren't necessarily the ones a lot of people thought could play. I think any decent coach wants to survey things when he arrives so he doesn't throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Maybe. People said Parcells would never take a job under Jerry too when initial rumors were flying around before he got hired.
what was great about them?
