Who cares about homefield. It doesn't mean as much as it used to. I think every year for the past 4-5 years the teams with the bye have lost at least twice. I'd rather play that first weekend at home, get some momentum, confidence. This team would probably be better off in that situation. When we get too relaxed and comfortable is where we get in trouble.

The Cowboys are a good football team, they just laid an egg today and really have to work on becoming a runnning team as this is going to be crucial when it gets cold.

This was not a trap game, we just lost to a good football team.
And a desperate team.

Agreed.

We do have to become a runnning team. No excuse not to, is there?

Agreed. To say they were flat is being kind. The OLIne was absolutely pushed around. Barber, who's normally a good pass protector, had a few bad plays. The WRs had trouble getting open. SOmetimes it seems Dallas forgets they have more than one TE. The run game was underused. The RBs were underused (run and pass). THe 2ndary continues to be the defenses' weak point. There is no depth and an injury to Jenkins will not help.

I felt people would say the Cowboys are a fraud because a lot of people thought Green Bay wasn't good and may have bought into the hype that winning the division was going to be a cake walk.

Folks, Green Bay is a very good football team. They have had some injuries on the Offensive Line but with a strong defense, good Quarterback and playing at home, they are capable of beating anyone in the NFL.

3 of their 4 losses came against Minnesota and Cincinnati, who are very good football teams.

The Cowboys are a good football team, they just laid an egg today and really have to work on becoming a runnning team as this is going to be crucial when it gets cold.

I agree with you to a certain extent. We looked out of synch all day. We abandoned the run early to I felt. GB has some good DB's and their front 4 can rise up at times. Today they did. This game did feel a little trap like all week for me. I did not feel good about this game because the more I kept hearing about how bad the GB O line was the more I kept finding myself telling people "hey, despite A. Rodgers getting killed every week he is still putting up numbers and making plays."

The coaching staff needs to regroup the team here and the focus. I think that can happen. I'm not looking any further than anything relating to preparation to for Washington this week. Move forward, learn and correct. We have plenty of opportunities we can take advantage off.

When you're constantly in second and third and long you're not going to have too many running attempts.

That's on a lack of execution instead of playcalling.

Wrong!!!!! We were in second and third and long often because we were NOT running the ball. Sacks, missed catches and/or throws, along with stupid penalties put us in long down and distance situations like they normally do. Barber was running the ball pretty well in the first quarter. He disappeared thereafter. That's the fault of the coaching staff. It's not like we were down by 3 scores and had to throw the ball to catch up. Tremendous FAIL on the coaching staff.

We had 14 total rushes for the ENTIRE GAME and 3 were by Romo when he had to scramble for his life. Barber had 5 carries and averaged 5.2 yards per carry. I'm pretty sure all but one of those carries were in the first quarter. That is STUPID playcalling for a team that was never down by more than 10 points until near the end of the game. Our coaching staff simply does not understand football, or it would seem.

I think it's more about in the first quarter, first possession, when Barber had 2 carries for 20 yards, and the rest of the plays were passes, and we settle for a FG.

But then it could be about the second possession of the 3rd quarter, when Choice had one run of 11 yards, and the rest of the plays were passes and then we punt.

Barber averaged 6.8 yards per carry in the first half, btw.

Six point eight.

So we should never throw the ball?

As long as it was a one possession game we ran the ball on first down 4 times and passed it five times.

Doesn't look like we abandoned the run.

We didn't run a s much because we either were stonewalled running the ball or Romo was sacked, penalty et al

Lack of execution changed the tone of our playcalling that's just it.

We threw the ball 39 times and ran it 11. You can't count the 3 scrambles by Romo because those were actually passing plays that resulted in a scramble. You won't win many, if any, games with that type of imbalance. That's football 101 and common sense. We also lined up in the shotgun far too often on first down. I don't like it and it isn't working consistently. If we don't start running the ball with authority (which requires patience and a nasty mindset), we won't go very far in the playoffs even if we make it there. Common sense my man, common sense.

Thank you for proving my point. And why was Romo sacked????? Because we were throwing the ball too much, especially on first down. As far as getting "stonewalled", you might want to go back and watch the first quarter. We were moving the ball on the ground, but we abandoned it, primarily due to taking sacks and/or penalties that put us in long down situations.
