Dallas is 6-1 in the NFL many would love to be sitting where we are right now. Dallas has played down to team at times but then in the 40 some odd years of watching this franchise that is not suprising. Bottom line in the NFL winning does not come easy and we are 6-1 if you want to question why be my guest myself I'm going to enjoy the 6-1 and look for this team to get better and more experianced within the system and with the staff.

Yeah the cowboys were playing down to the pats level. that is why we looked so bad. If we were playing a good team like the colts we wouldn't have had suc a bad outing

Yes, that was last year, wasn't it. Suc a good outing.

I was thinking more in terms of better execution and fewer penalties. This year. Stuff like that. And pummel teams expediently and without the drama of will they or wont they pull it out.:)

yeah, last year's win was great!
:D

If there were such a thing as fan karma - gawd help us.

We'd deserve to go winless the rest of the season.

Some of you people have no concept about the competitive nature of the league. The Patriots and Indy are playing at a level rarely seen in the past 25 years of football. We AREn'T THEM! Not yet anyway.

Can we be grateful and respectful of how amazing it is to be 6-1!

Dear Blutto, get it straight.
Everyone here is grateful for 6-1
Now, having said that, follow me now gashoppah, there is concern about the slow starts, lack of execution and defensive lapses.
Now, the coaching staff is aware of all this and I am sure is busy trying to correct those areas.
Meanwhile, I hope it is not too inconvenient for some fans to say, brutha, wouldn't it be great for the Cowboys to get a fast start, stop the self-inflcited penalties and be consistent on offense and defense.
If you don't think those are legitimate concerns, then the premise is lost to you.

Great points GimmeTheBall. It appears to me that this team thinks it's better than it really is. It seems as if they relax after taking the lead (ala NE and the Vikes) projecting an attitude of "yeah, if we play this way we can beat these guys, so why bother?" I think the Defense is particularly guilty of this. I've said many times on this site that w/ 7-8 1st rnd picks on D we should not be giving up any TDs.

And if you listen to Talking Cowboys (on the official website) Nate Newton is not all that impressed w/ this team. He thinks we are not going to beat the Giants unless we really fix these problems during the bye week.

Also, I am getting tired of listening to Wade Phillips mumble "I don't know" as an answer to the cause of our slow starts, penalties and mistakes. The last coach we had around here that didn't use that phrase was Jimmy Johnson. And you don't hear Bill Belicheat using it much either, if at all...

Maybe because you don't ever seem to be happy with any win, constant complaints we are 6-1 and deserve it because the team went out and earned it. Did we play perfect? no. Is there room for improvement? of course. However it does not change how tough it is to go out and win 6 out of 7 games played in the NFL.

And the point/premise is lost to you also, I see.

No I understand that this team needs improvments but I also know this team has not seen 6-1 since 1995 evidently you don't get it that you are not going to blow out team every week in the NFL. Evidently you are too busy pointing out what is wrong that you don't see what is right with this team.

That's today's society. 99 things can go right and people will focus on the one thing that didn't.

I agree. I think it stands true for just about every good team in the history of the NFL..... not necessarily playing down to opponents... its just that opposing teams do have warm bodies over there too and games have to played and won regardless of opponent..... even Indy played some close games last year and STILL won at the end of the day.

The only exception to what I just posted is.... New England... their opponents look like divsion I football teams..... and the exception to this is... the DALLAS COWBOYS... we played them hard/competitive(even with self inflicting damage) for 3+ quarters.

Add to that some of these teams are playing for their season. Minn for instance came into the Dallas game 1 game under 500 at 2-3 these guys knew their backs were to the wall and needed this win badly and went out and played hard. In the end no one is going to roll over for anyone

Yup... I had posted about that prior to the game.... getting to 3-3 was a goal and season changer for them.

Add..... WE are the Dallas Cowboys..... opposing teams(no matter who they are or how bad they are beat up and missing players) WILL get up and play at another level just because we are the DALLAS COWBOYS.

So vetty, vetty true.
