Could be Carolina
Or Atlanta, or New Orleans lol. That division is horrible. And if Brady loses another game i wouldnt be surprised if he gets "injured" and stays on the bench the rest of the season.

If we're lucky we'll win 2 out of the last 4 so there's that

This is the first year I think they should throw away the division winner gets automatic home game format.

Right, because it works against the Cowboys this year. You have no issue with them getting a home game when they have a worse record.

This is particularly criticized because it negatively affects the team right now. Bring this up in 2018 when Dallas won the East at 10-6 and wildcard Seattle was 10-6 with a head-to-win win against Dallas, and suddenly Dallas is now the away team visiting Seattle in the first round.

Consider a 24-22 Dallas victory potentially flips around with the 3 point home field advantage Vegas betting line, and the response here would be “Why didn’t we get a home playoff game, we won our division and they did not. This is criminal!”
The Cowboys actually play better on the road. Less pressure.

Why do people think they can speak for others?

Supporting a rule change means supporting a rule change even if it works against you, yes.

Perhaps the real secret to his youth / success was Giselle. Who’d a thunk?

I'm telling you the reason why you now want to change the rule is because it is currently working against the Cowboys. It has nothing to do with fairness whatsoever.

And I am right.

You make no sense.

Maybe I’m more hyper aware at how unfair it is now. But I would want it universally applied even if it hurts us in the future.

You can’t feel good about being 7-10 and having a home game and higher seed than a 13-4 team.

What’s a hoot is that if we win division. Philly falls to 5 seed.

in fact mathematically, Philly can only be 1 or 5. Can’t be anything else. That’s an interesting factoid too.

I agree, but there will always be a reward for winning your own division

It's also good for ratings and attendance. All fans of NFC South teams still have a reason to be engaged in mid-December because of the division race.

You’re exactly right. Saw nothing along these lines a year ago when we rolled through a terrible NFC East and got a home game while the powerhouse West had to hit the road and like it.

It sucks for us but I can’t see why anyone would be used to getting breaks lately.

The Cowboys can still win the number one seed. Or they can win 2,3,5,6,7.

But they mathematically cannot win the number 4 seed.

This is the first year I think they should throw away the division winner gets automatic home game format.

You can't just change it because it doesn't benefit us. This isn't the first year where a division has been stacked and a much lesser division out there who gets a very mediocre at best team as the 4 seed. The NFC South is the worst division in football but they will host a playoff game, probably against us. If you want to do away with this, then scrap divisions all together and have a round robin vs your conference. This is the only way that works. What is the point of divisions if winning it means nothing?

The NFC East just a few years ago was so pathetic, a terrible Dallas team had a shot to win the division the very last week. And Washington got to host a much better Tampa team. The NFC South that year was very good with NO and Tampa both being Super Bowl contenders. Tampa won 3 straight to get to the Super Bowl in their own stadium. Hopefully we can do that.

This is all Dallas' fault anyways. Don't meltdown and lose a Green Baby game where you are up 14 with 8min left. Win that, and we still control our own destiny. I give them credit for winning out since then and not letting that loss completely derail the season. But that loss was inexcusable and terrible and will be our undoing in the end from getting that 1 seed.

I've been talking about it for a while now even in the seasons Dallas didn't make the playoffs. The current four team, four divisions in the conference format has greatly reduced the impact of winning ones division. I'd prefer some reasonable changes. The current system could hurt or help a team. A modified system could hurt or help a team. Dallas may be the one helped and they may also be the one hurt in the current system in any give year or in a modified system. I'm not hoping for changes just to benefit the Cowboys. Just don't want to see mediocrity rewarded. Teams with losing records hosting a playoff game is rewarding mediocrity in my opinion and has only come about since the Texans joined the league and the current division format was introduced.

Again, to get the 1 seed (which is big)...
1) Philly needs to lose once either to the Bears or Saints or Giants.
2) We beat them XMas eve and win out.

That's it!

I think we can beat them at home with Dak. Cooper Rush had no real shot, especially with all his turnovers at home. I really wish the first game against the Eagles was at home as we had a better chance with Rush. He wasn't going on the road to win that game.

But I don't think they lose to the other 3 remaining games. Those are bad teams. Giants are free falling back to what they really are. They aren't good and Daniel Jones can't be counted on. Wasn't the past Giants game with Eagles in NY. Zero chance they go into Philly to win, especially with Philly wanting the 1 seed. The only way they can win is if Philly already has the 1 seed wrapped up and they rest players.

It doesn’t matter what seed they are I’m not convinced they can beat anyone in the playoffs. They’ve had 2 number one seeded teams go one and done since 07. Last season they played one of the lowest seeded teams in the playoffs and went one and done at home. The way the Cowboys played last Sunday I don’t think they care what seed they are. I’m not going out on a limb by saying they’re not finishing ahead of Philly.
