I was going to say we've gone from a culture of winning to hype but we haven't won anything in so long that I...well you know.

The worst thing I heard all year was Jerry during all the Ed Werder stuff when he said something to the effect of..."We kind of like that stuff around here."

Once he said that, I knew that it wasn't about winning championships or building a foundation for a team, it was about subsisting on hype to promote the brand name. Jerry is still the slick oil and gas guy, never building a foundation of anything. Sometimes he strikes gold...Jimmy and the 90's...but most times he won't. Sorry, it's the nature of his business. Jerry's job will always be to hype his product (gas, oil, Cowboys) to his investors...the fans and the media.

It's who he is.

Valid points....

The NFL is one big hype machine. The league runs on hype now more than ever. Take McFadden for example, crazyyyyyy hype! Not to say hes not talented but definitely hyped gets fat contract and does nothing as a rookie. JaMarcus Russell.... DeAngelo Hall soooo crazily hyped by fanboys and look what happens he gets cut middle of season lol.

NFL does a great job of marketing, and that in turn creates alot of buzz which is essentially hype.
