I found the second half of this statement to be laughable.

"Like a lot of great quarterbacks, Dak wins with his mind before and after the snap."
People make too much of stats and crap like that. The better team usually wins. We have on occasion have upsets. But it's not the norm. The front office is responsible for this.

Absolutely. We have zero chance at winning anything with Dak at a 20% cap hit. Anyone thinking otherwise is in my opinion delusional. The Chiefs have a chance to win the SB with Mahomes at around 17%. But he's a game changer. This is something Rodgers wasn't able to do.
Dak has had a 20% cap hit exactly 1 time.
It was when the team botched his contract negotiations and franchised him.

He "could" have a 20% cap hit next year. But almost certainly will not.

The biggest problem with Dak is his contract. It is too much money considering his limitations. He needs a better team around him which means the team needs money to shift to weak spots.

At the same time, Dak needs to get control of his bad throws. It is not just the INTs, it is also the missed opportunities when guys are open, especially in big games like the playoffs. I have no idea why he played so poorly in the SF game. But that's what needs to be figured out.

You're in pre-can kicking season. He's got 21.5% in 2023 and 20.4% in 2024 (and that's with the expected massive $31m CAP increase per team). Heck we're even paying him 7.7% in 2025 (based on a further CAP hike of $26m) and that's just his Void payment.

Got to pay it at some point, unless we keep kicking it ....and then end up with nothing to pay Micah and CeeDee, because someone will have the CAP space.

Very long blah blah blah article but they finally got to the only thing that really matters in the last paragraph.

Everything that happens in the regular season doesn't matter. Dak's fate will be determined by what happens in the playoffs.
It should be, that goes for the entire franchise.

I agree almost entirely. But take the stats and shove them sideways. I'm sick of hearing about stats that amount to nothing.

Here's the money quote. From the article.

Dak is good enough, the Cowboys are never good enough. If we had Patrick Mahomes or Aaron Rodgers, yeah, you can be conservative in the offseason. But we don't have a first ballot hall of famer at QB. Dallas has to support their quarterback similar to how the Eagles and Dolphins support theirs. Two QBs that aren't all that. But the GMs recognized what they needed to be successful. Had Tua not had injury problems, that Dolphins team would have been dangerous. And Tua isn't all that good.

Jerry needs to wake the frick up and see what other teams are doing to have success with less than elite, but good quarterbacks. Stop putting all of the blame in the QB. For those not old enough, I heard this exact crap about John Elway back in the 80s. He can't win the big one. Some of the old timers in here can confirm. John Elway had zero chance in those super bowls. Jesus Christ could have been quarterback and unless he used some of his miracles, he wasn't winning with Denver either.
Understood, but Aaron Rodgers didn't do so well this season with a lack of receivers around him. Rodgers showed he needs weapons as well.

It's not that hard to figure out, you just won't like the answer.

Like many on this board you WANT it to be a Dak problem when it is really not.
The OL was well below average, the WR corps was well below average, and you lost the explosive RB before half-time.
You also happened to be playing the league's top ranked defense.
All that was probably fine if you had luck with health on defense but you lost CB2 and CB3.
It left you very susceptible to short passing and run game teams.
And you had a kicker who couldn't even make a 25-yard kick.

Getting to the divisional round was EXPECTED level of performance not a major disappointment except to goofy fans with their heads buried in the sand.

People KNEW BEFORE the year this team was a bit undermanned.

The biggest disappointments were the Kicker falling apart when it mattered most, the zero return for Tolbert and Washington as expected WR3/4 and the lack of run stop until they signed Hankins.

Exactly! This is what truly bothers me with the Dak blame game. Who are these critics kidding? Have they not been paying attention all season, preseason and postseason at the lack of weapons, plus a bad Oline and terrible coaching?

Yep. It most certainly is not about football, especially concerning a team offensively that was drastically limited in talent and weapons, plus terrible coaching. It's been all about just hating on the QB...the same years long BS we've been having to deal with on a daily basis. It's gotten beyond tiring already.

What bothers me is you can read THEIR OWN posts from pre-season, week 2 and many other times.
They KNOW all this and either don't care or are just swept up in the emotion of losing a game where we were 4-point underdogs.

So yet again you credit 4 wins to Dak when in fact it was Rush that won those games. Talk about pathetic.
