The Cowboys have roughly 38 million dollars of cap space left!

Not sure what dangerous miserable is..maybe harming others or thngs.....but, I try not to let the Cowboys make me miserable. Do they disappoint me and make me sad? Yes...but I'll be damned if they're going to make me miserable. Screw them!! LOL
I stopped caring along time ago. Just here to aggravate the homers and naive. My only hope is getting a franchise QB and that’s not happening anytime soon. The only enjoyment I get is when they scroll up to Jerry in the sky box after a loss.

I don't know why we haven't extended Tyler Smith yet. 24 years old, All-Pro, no weaknesses in his game, no injury concerns. As far as mega-deals go, he's as low risk as you're going to get. Pay the man.
Because Dallas doesn't extend their first round picks until after their 4th season. I don't know why they do this.

Wow, $38 million, I was thinking it was around $20 million.

I can easily see 5 or 6 players at the $1.1 million being released. But they will need to sign other players to replace them.
Not sure what the rookie cap pool is, have they announced it yet?

I do not see any vet FA out there that will demand a lot of money. They only way that cap spaced is used, besides several of their own players. Is if they make a trade and absorb that players contract.

I see them more of doing nothing, other than for Parsons and Bland, possibly Smith extensions.
Then whatever they can carry over into 2026, they will be in great shape to sign players that will actually help get us to the SB.

Build this year with the draft as usual. Make big FA moves in 2026. As 2025 is still part of the soft rebuild.
Once they extend Parsons, we'll be closer to 50M in cap space. I have no idea what they intend to spend this on. The rookies probably won't hit 7M.

No free agent impact players will be signed. That money will be used to sign existing roster guys, a dumpster dive or 2, and the draft pics. Some of it will
be wasted as well.

Personally, I've already given up on next season, they can't improve enough to be competitive so I'm hoping they keep their powder dry as much as is possible til next year.

I could be even more negative and say that they may as well stop trying until Dak is history but I don't want to come across as dangerously miserable
I have no idea why Jerry bothered to sign Dak. Aside from what I think of Dak, Jerry was willing to throw the towel in on last season. He's doing it again this season. We are making no strides to improve the team, two years running. So what is the point of handing out mega contracts?

Fifth-year option is expensive, so they try to bring the number down. Tyler's under contract for $4 million this year. That's cheaper than what we paid for some less talented FAs. I think that's all the Joneses see. His fifth-year option is $21 million, so they will be motivated then.

I don’t understand why they resigned Dak either. Why resign a guy to a record setting contract only to put a subpar team around him and have cap space left over. Just sign the guy so you can watch him get pummeled every year and then hurt. Doesn’t make sense.

What bothered me about Tyron’s press conference is Jerry saying he regrets not doing enough to win a Super Bowl. He also said that at Romo’s press conference and Witten’s. At Dak’s retirement press conference he’s going to say the same thing. Hey Jerry, instead of regretting not doing enough why don’t you do enough? Spend the cap money. It bothers me that we have the 13th best chance go to the playoffs in the NFC and we have 30 some million in cap space. Jerry, do something!

Anyway I’m just venting, just frustrated with the whole situation right now.

My thoughts….

Cap space is irrelevant since there’s no one left on the market that’s going to change what this team is capable of.

They weren’t good enough three years ago, and have gotten worse each year since, while the division has gotten better. One draft…especially without extra premium picks…has no shot of changing that.
Yup. Sure woulda been nice if our GM was smart enough to tank his way into top 5 or 6.

Jerry has tried everything he knows.

Yup. That is the biggest lie: Jerry DOES NOT regret not doing enough to win a Super Bowl. We could have two more rings by now if he did care.

We are talking about $38,434,999 to be exact. Jerry just isn't himself anymore, its easy to see but his moron son is scared of him. He made big moves with Deion and such, but now he would rather just drink his troubles away and miss out on opportunities cause his moron son is more worried about the money coming in than winning.

Jerry wants to win, as cheaply as possible with the massive influence by the moron. When he fired Jimmy, we should've known that he thought he knew more about football than he does. Now I don't think the moron will want to be a coach like Jerry does, but he is very cheap. So it is what it is.

They took the Post June cut for Dak off the table, until March 2027 at the earliest.

Losing Rush and Lance locks us into Dak for many seasons now.

We are stuck.

Btw, Dak will earn over 400M from his time in Dallas.
