This scenario is so ridiculous...as the Cowboys have a much stronger view when playing away!

The Cowboys HOME record since moving into Jerry World (including this year)....................

If it wasn’t for Tony “Houdini” Romo.
It would be worse.

He got extra wins for totally inept head coaches. Phillips and Garrett.
You could easily remove 10-15 wins without Romo.

Who cares? Is "at least we're not the Browns" where you're going?

Safe to say, legitimate contenders win more than 52% of their home games.

And in the years that we have been a legitimate contender, we have, haven't we? In 2014 and 2016 we are a combined 11-5. I guess it remains to be seen if we are legit contenders or not this year, but I don't see how our home record in 2015, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009 (6-2 that year btw) has to do with our success, when most of those seasons were .500 or below.

Last year we were 7-1 at home and outscored the opponent by 75 points.

So, we were under .500 going into last year?

lol Maybe take another look then. Asking what the league average is doesn't mean one is hoping the team is as such.

It's called wanting perspective. A statistic is worthless without it...

Yeah surprised you got pushback on this. To answer this question you need to look at the Cowboys in comparison to the rest of the league controlling for team quality. Bad teams will have bad home records. Doesn't mean they don't have home field advantage. The question is whether the Cowboys perform worse than other teams when comparing their home performance against their average performance. Much more complicated than "we're .500 at home therefore we have no home field advantage." If you don't control for your own team's quality, then the Pats have the best home field advantage, followed by whoever is the 2nd best team over that stretch." Not a lot of info to be gleaned from that kind of stat except confirmation bias :).

Shh. Either you agree with the stats that fit the narrative or you are a FO apologist.

Sorry, but I have to agree with SD.
How do we measure this compared to other teams and their stadium winning percentage.
It seems like a natural question to ask. Shrug.

I think this list just helps show how mediocre this Cowboys team is. Let's face the facts the Cowboys haven't been all that great since the stadium has been built. It's not the stadiums fault that we are near 500 at home. It's the product being put on the field. We should not be complaining about the incredible stadium Jerry built we should be complaining about the team Jerry puts on the field on Sundays.

Really?

To sum up: 22nd in home winning % since Jerryworld opened, 3rd on the road, and 10th overall. That's just plain odd.

A building has nothing to do with winning or losing.

All right, how do you explain the fact that we're in the top 1/3rd of the league in overall winning % since 2009 while also being in the bottom 1/3rd in home winning %?

We also have the 3rd best road record during that span. Clearly, there's something screwy at work here.

Preparation, players doing different things, luck, not having a great team. A building has nothing to do with wins or losses. Crowd noise does which has always sucked in Dallas even before this stadium.

This team is built to play outdoors and on grass. Offensively, we are built on a dominant running game and controlling the clock. Most indoor teams like the Saints and Falcons have explosive/big-play offenses. Defensively, we have always been a slow defense and that doesn't go well with playing in perfect conditions on a fast surface. Because we have never fielded a great defense in that span, I feel like opposing offenses have an easier time playing indoors here.

It's never going to happen but if the team played a full season at the Cotton Bowl, I think you'd see a huge difference in the on-field results.

You guys can look at all the stats that you want, but our home field advantage doesn't exist. Just pay attention on TV (I've also gone to a couple of games).

So many away fans fill up the stadium. And there are so many distractions going on while you're at the game, they try to entertain the crowd with all this other crap going on. Also, tickets are so expensive that it leaves most of the diehards at home. There are so many casual fans and corporate seats that don't even know when to get loud. I rememeber a few weeks ago Dak was asking for the crowd to get quiet and instead they got louder (I think it was the Rams game). I'm so envious of Green Bay, Denver, Chiefs, etc home field advantages.
