The Cowboys need to get back to a power-running game

So far I'm impressed with the latitude given to Shotty to bring in coaches that meet his vision.

We will have to add some outside FA to accelerate and fill in holes, we have a lot of them. But it does point to a philosophical change taking place.
A very good change for the better it's about time

Just mentioned him as a guy who is a scheme fit. I do love his attitude, and if we double dip, I'd take him in the 5th. I also think he gets drafted before that.
I don't get all the hype though for a non top 10 RB prospect. He is easy to root for and was a great college back but some slow, 5'8 undersized guy isn't trucking NFL players IMO but I've been wrong before. I remember James harden in college and saying "This dude will never make it" lol

I mean if saying I'd take a guy in 5th due to scheme fit and liking his attitude is hype, I guess I'd feel the same way.

I would settle for the Cowboys 2014 playoff games OLine:
Tyron
Leary
Frederick
Martin
Parnell
Fredrick's was better than Kelce. Kelce literally is going to the hall of fame because Fred got sick. No knock on Kelce cause obviously he was great but Fredrick was better

What was that weird play where the ball seemingly went through the air and number 48 caught it? Emmitt Smith should have been charged for killing the Bills right after he scored.

Roger had Tony, Troy had Emmitt.

To a lesser extent Romo had Murray.
And even SleepNumber had Zeke.

It's a tried and true recipe to offensive success for this team.

Frederick had 1 first team all-pro in the 5 years before he got sick. Kelce actually began being the perennial first team all-pro center before Frederick got sick

If you can truly run the ball and work the TE and CeeDee you can win a lot if games. We certainly seem to have a poor pass blocking team, so let's run the ball. We truly need a thunder and lightning run game. Power back and then a slasher with speed to hit the edges. I still think the TE from Penn State might be a good fit in round 1. Pick up a power back in Round 2. Find some big uglies in FA to bolster the run defense. Find a slasher later in the draft. Heck, use some comp picks to find a back. Draft a couple of them and let them fight it out. Rico bye bye. He will want too much money.

It should be. You're limited with Dak but if you have a strong OL and a couple good RBs it can make an average passing game look really good.
pretty simple.....we're limited in the passing game because we have a limited WR group for starters.

Anyone think that Zeke RB from the Chargers could be a fit???

Maybe posted before, but pulling of two linemen is cool to watch. Definitely can't have any slow linemen.

It sure seems like this is the plan.....finally!!!

Those games of seeing Dak with 40+ pass attempts better be over.
Aint that the truth.
But there's still a select group here who live and die by the pass game and passing stats. They're even on this thread.
The QB got that bag so hopefully Head Coach Jerry doesnt dictate passing attempts per game to show a BS image of return on investment.

Yep, its pretty funny how the team appears to be going back to the original Linehan philosophy of leaning on the ground game to protect a rookie QB.
Its just now they're doing it to protect a 10 year vet. All the while paying him 60 mil per.

Only in Dallas I tell ya.
Cowboys!
Lol

Physical down-hill runners which is what Klayton's system utilizes.
the best back this guy had in College in his system is already on the Cowboys roster....for real and its not close...

Which RB in the Cowboys roster did Klauton Adams coach in college?
