TBD. Pollard did better later in the season on the way back. If they decide to roll with Rico at RB and not add through the draft or only add via UDFA would you automatically think "better?" You can't pencil in "better" no matter who they bring in with preseason injuries, etc. Nothing's wrong with what you think. But neither is anything wrong with someone thinking Rico sucks.
Pollard was a big over pay. You actually should know that they plan on drafting a back.

I "should" know that but if they do he's no guarantee to be better. If he's a "2nd Round special", will you be just as hopeful? Lol.

All the people mad mouthing them now haven't seen what they will do either. A good chance that they improve with both in the draft.
That’s because it isn’t just about those two positions. We went into the off-season with about 5 needs, then it went to 8 with FA. The only move we’ve made is signing Kendrick’s to be a short term stopgap at LB.

So now we still have about 7 primary needs. If we improve thru the draft at C and RB, we’d still have 5 areas not adequately addressed. Signing some post June 1st/camp cuts isn’t going to do it, nor a trade or two for an aging declining vet for a 1 or 2 yr contract.

They should get 3 solid players with their 1st 3 picks.

Like last year? Mazi, Schoonmaker and Overshown.
Or ‘22…Tyler Smith, Sam Williams, Tolbert.

The last 2 years our first 3 picks combined have netted 1 starter.

This draft is better than last year. Also you actually made a good point. They believe they will get some upside from the players on your list and from the players that did not play last year.

Do you remember the panic by the fans and media last year about the kicker? The Cowboys believed they had one.

People seem to expect instant gratification with players. I like that we can draft them and let them sit and develop. Parcells used to preach the three year rule with new players. Mazi, Williams, Tolbert, Luepke, and Schoonmaker all got playing time last season. I remember when we traded two picks to move up and take DLaw at the top of the second round they were calling him a bust after just a few games. Looking at the list of players in the OP there are a lot of offensive and defensive players that could step up and claim a starting spot.

Good luck getting upgrades out of all those backups and inactives from last year.

Hope and spin isnt a good strategy.

They are going to hit on some players. They know what they are doing.
