The Cowboys prototype at WR

How do we not know that yet another rd 1 WR will be a waste as long as Dak is QB. Not one of them is better than Cooper and Dak had a tough time getting him the ball

Give me Center, LOG and a TE that can block

Zuriel Smith and Skyler Green were 5'10 or shorter when drafted, but that was when Parcells was in charge. They do tend to prefer larger receivers.
There are several big receivers in this year's class that are good outside fits if they go in that direction.

- If they retain Ceddy Wilson, he's probably the best slot guy we'd have.
In fact his best work is more in the slot than it is outside.

- And remember that Dak worked extremely well when smallish Beasley was here, but we've haven't had anyone on his level since he's departed.
I think it's more about route running, but it depends who is the smallish slot guy - he'd have to to be exceptional.

- And they pursued Tavon Austin to be the new Beasley, but he had limited receiving skills and catch radius, and prone to injury and drops.
Austin was toyed with the running back/wr role. Quite honestly, Lamb is our best slot receiver. Perfect world they find a receiver who can play all receiver spots.

I like both him and Burks, but not sure if I want to spend another 1st rounder at the position.
I have no problems with it if you are drafting a stud. London and Olave are going to be studs in my eyes. There are probably guys Id rather have like Green or Johnson, but I wouldn't cry over a potential #1 WR

Austin just seemed like a bad NFL player that Stl and Dallas wanted to make a thing lol

He is more of a CFL type. He would be really fun to watch in the Canadian game. I dont mean that as a knock either

I think we need to wait to see if the other shoe falls with DLaw. If he or Gregory is gone, I think DE need rises to the top. It is sure looking like the 3 priority needs the team wants to address is WR, G/T and TE.

I think they will protect themselves and draft another, future starter at the position. Outside of that one disaster yr, they have always prioritized the position. I am fully expecting a WR to be drafted sometime within the 1st 2 days of the draft.

i don't ..and won't. .

If we do draft a WR as high as 1st,.. that would mean either they are also Not sold on Lamb as a feature ..or it'd have to be a WR who they
perceive as a " blue chipper" that's high on their draft board and just could not pass up .

i think Cowboys are/will be content with Lamb as the lead, Gallup the No.2,..Wilson if he's retained as the
They are not gonna be pressed/forced to go get a WR just for the sake of getting one,

And in that disastrous year because they did not have anyone else (aside from Beasley) .. to resort to and the options they had were horrible.
- Gallup was a raw rookie only learning the NFL game
- Allen Hurns was an injury prone, slot only guy that was on the decline.
- Lance Lenoir
- Brice Butler
- Deonte Thompson

I’d bring in Adam Humphries

i wouldn't .

if we get a slot only guy, he'd also have to be a helluva punt returner too.
I'd rather even save that Humphries money elsewhere to retain Wilson .

I think if we bring one them back, I dont think it is that big a need. We will be bringing Parsons up to the edge alot, so that DE will most likely not be rushing that much. That 2nd DE could very well be a role similar to Crawford in 2018. We could be good there with Golston.

Im not saying you pass on a guy if he is there. But I dont think its that critical

i cannot see both starting DE's gone ..and with us expecting to contend for a SB berth .. much less playoff spot.

That would mean being pressed to draft an immediate rookie DE very early, ..and that's alone just too risky .
and who else we'd go with ? ..... Basham ? ...re-signing and panic-over paying a decent only Armstrong
Depending upon Parson only as the pass rush ...?

When we start looking at the WR position in this year's draft, I see many are projecting the so called, undersized slot receiver types. Can you remember the team using a high pick on any receiver under 6 feet over the last 20 years? I cannot think of one. They have a distinct prototype for the position. Just look at our current receivers:

Lamb-6'2
Cooper-6'1
Gallup-6'1
Wilson-6'2
Turner-6'2
Fehoko-6'4

I would rule out any undersized receiver in this class and look at the ones over 6 foot 1.

Fehoko is being talked about as a possible move to TE.

Yeah, Im sure never wouldve drafted 6’0 JaMarr Chase
Good grief

Lose 1, think the need still on the top of the list as it's such an important position, even with Parsons taking snaps there.

In my opinion, if one is gone, with a deep DE class, great time to get younger and cheaper at the position. One is going to be there at 24.

The rumor out there is they were looking heavily at day 2 wide receivers.
