The Dallas Cowboys could get more offensive after the team moved on from Head Coach Mike McCarthy after the front office and coach could not agree on the team’s future. In the aftermath of the move, the media has been predicting several coaches who could take over the job. Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn, Bill Belichick, and others are hovering in the universe.

The Cowboys have contacted Deion Sanders, Robert Saleh, Leslie Frazier, and Kellen Moore for the top spot on the coaching staff. Of the names who have been contacted, the favorite is Kellen Moore.

Several Dallas Cowboys fans who remember him as offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2022 share this sentiment.

Here’s the thing about Kellen Moore: He is a Jerry Jones guy, and the comfort level with this potential hire is very high.

Not only is Jerry Jones comfortable with Moore, but so are Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.

Been saying Kellen's hire isn't as bad as some think. He will def get the offense back on track but he needs strong coordinators for leadership and it doesn't hurt we are stealing him from the Eagles. Force them to get Hurts another OC and from what I hear Vrabel is going hard after AJ.

It's basically been a disaster for 30 years. If Jerry at 82 makes the decision to hire Moore.. he really doesn't give a crap about winning, his players, the fans.. etc. None of it. You think it's time to wait out another calamity? His head is permanently stuck there.

Why do people think that HC is a natural, logical progression from coordinator? Totally different skill sets. Of all the mentioned candidates, Moore could possibly be the worst hire. He couldn't even stand up to Mike McCarthy! How on Earth would he stand up to Jerry Jones?

Moore's a nerdy "X/O" guy...not a motivator, not a disciplinarian, not a man who is going to hold people accountable in an organization that's rapidly getting out of control.

I don't think he can, BUT I'd be willing to give him a try over guys like Saleh, Frazier or even Zimmer who have already failed in their head coaching attempts. Most fans would hate Moore because of preconceived notions about him as a coach, but we really don't know how he'd be in that role. There have been cerebral coaches who've won Super Bowls.

Caveat: I really doubt any coach can get us over that hump because of the elephants in the room (the Joneses).
