Win it in the next 2 years ....or else

The time is now....this team may be gutted after that.

The phrase is usually " win it when a qb is on his rookie contract,:......I would change that to " win it while a Micah Parsons is on his rookie contract,"
Nominated for best post of the season.

It is manageable because some high paid guys soon go away and the new high paid guys will be backloaded.
That’s why they don’t spend just to be spending right now
I agree. Some high paid players will go away. My thought is that it will end up being Dak. The rest of the players are young.
Dak has had his chance being here 7 years, this is essentially his last year to show us that he can be an elite quarterback.

I don't think it will be as daunting as it seems. The new TV deal money kicks in next year.

Overthecap has next years cap at 256 million with Dallas having 24 in space. This year might be the most challenging. But Dallas has options to raise the cap space.

2025 is 282 million with Dallas having 159 million in space.

2026 is 308 million with Dallas having 276 million in space.

The contracts will be staggered and spread out. I believe Dallas has a plan in place to sign all the players and still keep cap flexibility into the near future.
Seems like Stephen has a plan.

This team isn't getting gutted. Team directions are very strong and won't self implode. They are real in today's NFL, again now.

It'd be in the Dallas Cowboys best interest to extend one of their core players before the start of training camp later this month. Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs are the players in question, but Diggs is the only one who can say he's entering the final year of his contract.

You'd be hard-pressed to come across a fan who doesn't want Dallas to give Diggs a lucrative extension.

He has the best ball skills of any cornerback in the league and has vastly improved the feast or famine aspect of his game by calculating when to jump routes.

https://thelandryhat.com/posts/trevon-diggs-cornerback-rankings-cowboys-pressure-contract-extension

In ESPN's new cornerback rankings, Diggs checked in at No. 8, up two spots from last year, and ahead of Browns $100 million CB Denzel Ward.
Here's how the top-10 shaped out:

  1. Patrick Surtain
  2. Sauce Gardner
  3. Jalen Ramsey
  4. Jaire Alexander
  5. Darius Slay
  6. Marlon Humphrey
  7. Marshon Lattimore
  8. Trevon Diggs
  9. Denzel Ward
  10. A.J. Terrell
Still just 24 years old, it stands to reason Diggs will continue to climb the CB ladder. The main takeaway here, though, is that Diggs is highly regarded around the league and is considered one of the NFL's premier cornerbacks.

Last year, the Browns gave Ward a five-year, $100.5 million extension, including $45 million guaranteed to make him the highest-paid corner in the league. The Packers followed suit by giving Alexander, who has a case to be No. 1 in these rankings, a four-year, $84 million deal.

Alexander's $21 million AAV (annual average value) is now tops in the league, so $20 million per year will likely be the baseline for Diggs' negotiations.

Both Ward (No. 9) and Alexander (No. 4) cracked the top-10, but the fact Diggs beats out Ward months after the Browns standout (temporarily) became the game's wealthiest CB punctuates the fact Dallas has to pony up.

A team now has to stay on top of the passing game, both offensively and defensively.

Elite depends on each persons opinion. To me elite is the best of the best and that’s a very few players. We need Dak to be top 10 or better. He has been but just had a bad year and we need him to bounce back and be the best he has been. Elite is very rare

Dak is not an elite quarterback. Dak is rated number 9. Dallas has a very good team assembled this year. Running back depth is questionable. However, Dak has no excuses going into this year, wide receivers are very good. He needs to perform in the playoffs, not the regular season.

QB market is destroying the game. Wealth gap in the NFL will soon look like the real world, where senior executives make 250 times the average American salary.

Just heard they tried getting Denzel Mims from the Jets but would not give up a 7th round pick for him and was hoping they would release him and the lions came right end and gave the pick for him. So they tried for more WR help.

4.38 40 yard time

Mims definitely could have helped.
