The crowd?

It never seems loud on TV at least compared to many other places. Maybe its the acoustics or where they are picking up the sound or who knows what.

For someone who was at the game it felt like the home crowd really brought it for week one. I know I screamed my lungs out.

Did it seem loud on television?
I'm gonna be the dissenting opinion, here in this thread, Tio, and say you're dead on. It sounded loud, brother.

Thanks for rep'ing Cowboys Nation! If your voice ain't hoarse the next day after a game, you ain't screaming loud enough :D

Been to every game but two in that stadium (including college games). That was pathetic. Since the Lions playoff game, our fans have gotten better about consistent noise, last night was a step backwards.

Edit: granted, stadium was packed with Giants fans.

Were there lots of Giants fans? Seemed like they were loud on our third downs as well

Yes. A lot more than last year. Their high expectations brought them all here. The same will happen with KC, GB & Philly.

The scalpers are making a fortune this year. The rest of us get stuck sitting next to these people.

Thankfully for me the giants fans sitting next to me got into some odd argument and the girl get up and left and then the guy followed her and they never came back! It was great.

I was there and it seemed ok as far as the crowd. Like someone mentioned earlier the FGs took a lot out of us. It was actually a pretty ugly game all around as far passing goes for both teams.

On a side note Texans are more laid back and never, NEVER have been loud and energetic like other fans like Seattle, NY, Pitt, Philly ect. Thats just always been the case in Dallas besides a few rare games here and there. I remember watching the 90s super bowl teams and it always seemed like nobody was in the stands.

I mean..the home team did as good of a job as they can in eliminating the crowd..it was never a close game..mostly fgs scored by the home team..there really wasn't anything to get up for..which I'm OK with

For the TV viewing and the noise. A lot has to do with the broadcast too. And a lot is each persons perception.
The TV broadcast crew are on an enclosed booth. I don't think the window can be opened, not sure.
So if the sound comes through their broadcast in the booth, it will be muffled somewhat.

But what one hears as loud, another hears as low. Same for at the stadium. Remember this stadium is built for the noise to filter down to the field making it louder at field level and allowing the fans in the upper sections not hear the noise as much. So you can hear the next person talk if they are talking loudly.

So therefore somes perceptions of not being loud is based on hearing noise around them too.

I always take it with a grain of salt when people say the crowd sucks.

They have mics on the field and each announcer has a mic.

If they turn up the announcer's mics relative to the field mics, then the crowd noise will seem low.

It was the opposite in the game with Romo/Nantz. It was hard to hear Romo and Nantz because the field mics were turned up too much.

It's hard to say, but this is not the first time I've heard the stadium was loud last night. I'm glad.

To add to this, it's hard to consistently get excited about these night games.

The last time we played a real, meaningful day time game was home vs Baltimore of last year.

That was before Thanksgiving for those who were wondering.

The Cowboys saving NFL ratings is really hurting my enthusiasm. I would kill for a home noon game where I can get day drunk and still go to work the next day. @home or away.

Dallas fans are weak sauce.

Myself included. I'd rather watch the games biting my nails on every play like it's the last play of the super bowl than get up and make noise.

this is not true. The stadium was fabulous last year and in 2014 sans week 1.
