News: The Dallas Cowboys are setting up for a long, successful run

After watching this year's playoffs, I'm more convinced than ever that Belichek is right when he says he believes more and more each year: "players win games and coaches lose them". The Patriots are usually no where near the most talented team (except for one position - QB) but they beat better talent by outcoaching and outscheming everyone else. They should have lost to the Seahawks except they had coached and prepared Malcolm Butler to make the play of his life. They were dead against the Falcons but adjusted their offense at halftime to throw passes to the outside instead of inside (where the Falcons had keyed their defense and Brady was intercepted). The Patriots overachieve and the Cowboys underachieve due to coaching and scheme. No way we should have lost at home to the Packers - we had them on the run at the end of the game until we "spiked" ourselves. In the playoffs, you go against the best and better coaches and we will always be at a disadvatage with Garrett. Always. He needs All-Pros at every position and even then the issue would be in doubt. Not a hater, I just believe what I see. Garett is a leader but not a very good football strategist or game day coach. Until we get quality coaching and scheming.....I just hope Dak and Zeke don't become the next Romo, Witten, and Dez and never sniff a ring...

I think at this stage the success or failure falls to the defense. Offense is a young group but this team lacks big time players on defense who can make a QB day miserable and shut down runners. I think we have some good parts on the defense but just do not have the playmakers and difference makers that can lead this defense.

It's going to love this season as you doubters close your trap as the Cowboys Dallas win and win

The Cowboys won this year just like they won in 2014..............the problem is the winning is done in the regular season.

Whats the use in having home field advantage if you are going to go "one and done" every time you get it?

I am a fan so I will cheer the team on no matter what, but I am not under any illusions that we are starting a 1990-1995 run here.

Id feel more comfortable about a longterm contender spot if we had won a single playoff game this season and had some nice young talent that blossmed on both side of the ball

Instead we have a great young talent at QB/RB our oline is fixing to hit their "prime years" while having a very well paid possession wide out...oh and a cowboys legacy at TE

And a bunch of JAGS on defense.....half of whom seem to have had their contract come up this offseason and need to be replaced..

I would gladly close my trap if that happens.

The team has done very well for two of three years.Last year was very exciting IMO .There's no need to go over 15's history we all know the
incredible story. During camp few expected more then 8/8 season, you included. We finish with a 13/3 season and it's the same pissing and moaning.
This year you and others will do the same pissin and moanin if we don't win it all and for what?
I don't recall the content of your post but while we're winning do you post positive comments about the wins during the season.
Did you write positive comments for Garrett's COY award?

We have an idiot d coordinator that thinks he has some magic philosophy of what positions don't hold importance on a defense. A guy who hyped up Nick Hayden. When he gets a clue/gets fired is when the defense will be somewhat legit

Washington has enough cash to add some improvements in Free Agency. They are also starting to believe in the draft...mix that with the Giants and Eagles, and Dallas already has it's hands full in the NFC East.

no team has won the east in consecutive years for a long time now so that don't bode well for the cowboys more than likely we will struggle to even make the playoffs
