Not really, imo.

If signed to the 53, sure.

But signed to the PS... that's just, minimally, covering your bases in case of injury and you need to move someone up.

And sure, there's always the remote chance he's actually going to prove himself to be a viable asset.

You had the open PS slot. No reason not to. Indeed, wouldn't surprise me if this had been on Will McClay's radar for a little while as a possible development.

And... sorry to all those who, no doubt, said essentially the same thing... no, I didn't take the time to read. Sue me. :)

Maybe. But he'll have to earn it or someone will have to crater first.

It's great to be optimistic, but pump the brakes just a little... he did have issues, and he may still have... including a reputation for the dropsies on the field.
