Your argument does not hold. They also lost to Denver. There is not one solid defense in their entire division. If you want to play the who beat who game go ahead.

Tell me why you think the Changers will win. Give me three things you can prove they can do better than us when matched up head to head against us. I will wait right here.

They pass the ball better (In terms of QB rating, passing yards and protecting the QB), they defend the pass better, they force more turnovers, commit fewer turnovers, commit fewer penalties, and sadly are better coached (which is more of an indicment of our piss poor coaching). Their 8 wins are more impressive than ours, as well.

Good. Nothing wrong with a friendly wager.:D
I would be the happiest person on earth to be wrong. I love my Cowboys, they just kick me square in the nuts every year about this time of the season.

I just don't think that we're as good of a team as a lot of us would like to think. If we play the remaining teams like we played against Washington, GB, or KC we're going down.

Hmmm........So what you're saying is if we play our worst football, we're going down........insightful.
What if we play like we did against the Eagles, Raiders, Atlanta or Seattle?

Then I'm wrong, you're right, and I'm happier than any of you.

We aren't as good of a team as some of us would like to think we are and will be lucky to win two games in the final five.

Would you like to take a guess at which of the last five Vegas will have us listed as a dog?

I got ya. feel your pain and all that.:D

This team seems to be more about team than in past years. I think our off-season moves are paying dividends now. Special teams and defense in particular. The offense has me a little worried but not enough for me to say they will loses 3 of 5. I just think we are better than that. We will see.

I learned long ago that Vegas doesn't mean crap; especially as it pertains to the Dallas Cowboys. But if I had to guess I'd say that they'll have us at:

@NYG... -3
SD... -3
@NO... +5
@Washington... -6
Philly... -2

It hurts even worse when you're dishing out the cash for those season tickets. It's hard not to expect instant gratification.

This has nothing to do with being right or wrong. I sure as hell don't know what will happen.

It's about having reasonable expectations.

What exactly has this 8-3 team done to make you think it finishes 1-4?

Are the next 5 our toughest stretch? Yes
Can we finish 1-4? Yes

Has this team demonstrated a level of play throughout the first 11 games to make one believe a 1-4 finish is the most likely outcome? No

That is better. I like absolutes that are measurable. Good post except for the coaching part. That I would have to disagree with. Keep in mind their offensive numbers are slightly inflated by playing in the AFC west.

The NYG game is listed as a PK.

My best guess on the remaining four:
SD.........PK
@NO......+4
@Was....-5
Phi........-4

I'm pretty good at this. I guessed NYG would be a PK.

We have, we have a tendency to let horrible teams (Washington, KC, Carolina) stay in the game far too long. We tend to play down to the level of our competition and if we play the way we did against the remaining teams on the schedule we're going to be sitting on the couch in January.

We really have had one of the easiest schedules a team could ask for.

TB- Maybe the worst team in the league.
NYG - Playing horrible this year.
Carolina - Pathetic
Denver - Vastly overrated.
KC - Pathetic
Atlanta - Good win, still just an average team.
Seattle - Pathetic
Philly - The only team worth talking about that we've beat this year.
GB - Exposed us
Washington - We played down to the level of the competition.
Oakland - Pathetic

Tell me why I should be optimistic heading into the final stretch? I'm all ears.

Honestly, I'd take it. If we're going to lose any of the remaining games I'd rather we lose to NO and SD.

Most good teams do that. For every game we've underperformed expectations, there is a game played this year we exceeded them.
TB, Atlanta, Seattle, Philly, Oak.

OK 5 0ut of 11, so we're due another good game. You also may notice this trend. We underperformed in 4 of our first 5 yet outperformed in 4 of our last 6.

We also probably have a better defense this season than have since the last time we won a play-off game.

You shouldn't be optimistic. You should continue to undervalue the team's wins and overvalue their losses and generally continue on your path to low self-esteem.

Tampa is not even close to the worse team in the league sorry that is between the Rams and Cleveland both worse than Tamps yes they are a bad team but they have 3 wins to 1 for the other teams.

Chargers they beat who ? Raiders Twice a bad team, KC twice ,dolphins

They beat Philly so did we they split with Denver so we lose to them they beat the giants we lose but can split that series

They lost to Steelers and ravens so where is the great wins you keep harping on oh wait there is none. In fact you could say both the Ravens and Steelers are Mediocre teams by their record so the Chargers lost too several mediocre teams

Our schedule in December is set up perfectly if you ask me. We play 3 division games, 1 of which may ultimately decide the NFCE championship(eagles game), another in which the Giants season is arguably on the line and it is a road game. While at the same time having to face one of if not the hottest team in the AFC, and 1 of the top 2 seeds in our own conference.

People want to know if the Dallas Cowboys are contenders or pretenders, well let me tell you something, we are not going to have to wait until the playoffs start to find out, we will know by the end of the regular season how good this team really is. With that being said, the Dallas Cowboys do not have to go 5-0 or even 4-1 during this stretch to prove to me that they are contenders. These games are not win or go home situations, the cowboys just need to show that they are a well prepared team that is capable of winning and competing competently during this stretch.

Teams that succeed in the playoffs are usually teams that are battle tested, having a December vs the likes of the Cleveland Browns, the Detroit Lions, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers is not what this Dallas Cowboys team needs for a trial run heading into the playoffs. Our current December schedule is exactly what the doctor ordered. If you ask me, this 5 game stretch is set up perfectly to prepare us for success in the playoffs, assuming this team is as good as many of us think they are.
I couldn't agree more! We will find out what this team is made of.

I have not looked, so I am just guessing here.

At NY.......I think we are probably a 2 or 3 pt favorite.

Vs SD......being a home game for Dallas, I think 3 to 4 pt favorite

At NO......We will be a road dog here, probably 5 to 7 pt dog.

At Was.....We should be a heavy favorite, like 5 or 6 pt favorite.

Vs Eagles.....Again, the game is at home so I will say 2 or 3 pt favorite.

So basically the game at NO is the only game we should be a dog in, you guys agree????

You should be optimistic because we play the Giants who you have listed as "playing horrible this year". We get to play the Skins again who you have listed as "we played down to their level", thus indicating that we are a level above them.

So that is two games against one team that even you say we are better than (Skins) and another game against a team you say is playing horrible this year. You would think we would have a good chance against either of these teams. So that is two games right there.

You can then be optimisitic that of the remaining 3 games, 2 of them will be at home where we are a FG on the last play of the game away from being undefeated. Not only are we a FG away from being undefeated at home, but 1 of our 2 remaining home games is against a team we already beat (Philly). So if we already beat them in their house, why would you not be optimistic that we can beat them in our house considering we have one of the best home records in the league???

I just gave you 3 games out of our last 5 that you should be optimistic about. If we go 3-2 with wins over the Giants and Philly, we win the division regardless of what else happens.
