LOL, big difference.

Incidentally, does anyone know what happened to Chocolate Lab? He has been around for years and now he hasn't posted since October 2nd of last season.

I was wondering the same thing about Hostile. As for Lab, don't know him, but if I recall correctly, he wasn't a big fan of mine.

I wondered the same as well. One, (Hos) is off gloating as JG is riding high these days, and CL hates it because JG is riding high these days.

No minimum, per se. But for me that's kinda the point of this blog. To get all my thoughts on on the web to see what other people think.

That was a great thread, btw, jday. Good discussion, overall.

It's always nice to look back and see how what you thought at the time compares after the fact.

It really is what I love about the zone. The conversations we can have our epic, given the right topic and timing.

It is nice to have that. While everyone has been wrong at one time or another on this message board, there were some of us who could see the direction of the team and what Garrett was trying to do, long before the team went 12-4.

Not to toot my own horn, but I did post a thread before the season started that we may very well be the most well-rounded offense in the NFL. Let's just say no one agreed. I did think we'd be in the 9-7 range because I thought we'd have the worst defense.

Edit: Here we go http://cowboyszone.com/threads/do-we-have-the-best-offense-on-paper-in-the-nfl.290541/

Thanks for hijacking me thread. j/k

It's funny how much of what you said actually came to fruition, particularly the part about our OL and running the ball. Well done.

In the linked OP, at some point in the discussion, I mentioned this year as the year for contention, should Garrett prove worthy of retention. They certainly look primed for that, but I still have questions about that running game this year.

But I don't think any of us expected it to yield returns like it did in 2014. That was the pleasant surprise of the year!!!

Yes it was. But what put us over the top IMO was Marinelli taking over the D, and the genius move of bringing in Linny.

I just hope we didn't get cocky by not signing Demarco. It sort of reminds me the way we talk about the Oline, like the 90's when JJ said 100 coaches could coach this team. We will soon find out and it starts tonight!

I don't recall if I made a prediction or not. I'm pretty sure I didn't, because the defense scared me.

I *didn't* make a season record prediction last season, because I thought we'd gotten worse defensively but still believed Garrett was the right coach for us. I didn't want to say less than 8-8, but at the same time, thought treading water looked like a reasonable accomplishment. It was great when things went our way and we somehow ended up where we did.

In my defense, I also always hate making season predictions, because so few plays divide the winners from the losers, and so many things can impact a team's performance anyway. It really is just blind guessing when you don't know how many games key players are going to miss on your time or on the teams you're playing against.
