The defense isn't that bad

It stinks. If it's not a bad secondary getting picked on, it's a DL that disappears for stretches of the game, then it's Mike Nolan calling a soft zone on 4th and 3.

There is nothing redeeming at all about this defense and it's likely going to cost us the season.

Why must we always sign these washed up Coaches?

Is it impossible for us to sign a Coach with Potential instead of a Coach who has already reached the peak of his career and is now on the downside of it...

Agree with OP somewhat coz Russell Wilson makes a lot of defenses look bad. His ability to extend plays is a killer. Notice several plays he we had decent coverage.

By the way, I chuckled at how many times Aikman used the word "confusion" during the telecast. That's a Nolan hallmark and one of the criticisms of his recent stops - his desire to be so multi-faceted leads to confusion and misreads.

You need to be a top flight DC to pull of multi front defenses. Guys like Lewis and Rex Ryan. When you have average guys like Rob or Nolan, its usually a disaster. Too much stuff going on on the field to manage

I don't give Seattle credit for winning, they're not that great. Our defense just handed it to them.
Granted we have some injuries, we could have used LVE & Chido, but *** is Lawrence? Smith is always a step behind.
Bright spot was Diggs and Smith (DE), that's it.
Daryl (The great white ninja) Worley can't cover a damn thing. Same with Woods or Thompson. Lewis got handled unless he hung onto an arm.

No pass rush, despite having really good pass rushers, and the secondary players look like they don't even know where they are

We are devoid of talent in the secondary. We have undersized and slow safeties and corners. We also have a new DC and a new scheme. Lots of problems with this defense to overcome in just one season.

That one TD was hilarious. Aikman pointed out how half the defense seemed to think we were playing zone and half thought we were in man. Diggs passes Lockett off and yet he has like 3 other DBs still running to Diggs side of the field following WRs/TEs.

This season was so predictable. The heavy investment is in the offense so they need to win shoot outs.
