The defense still sucks

Another game... another 30 points allowed.

Thirty points to a very average Texans offense — the same Texans offense that scored 6 against the Bengals and 17 against the Colts.

Once again, the defense gave up a long, late fourth-quarter drive to surrender the lead, forcing the offense to go back down the field and either retake the lead or win the game. Then, with seconds left and Houston out of timeouts, they still allowed them to get into position for a legitimate Hail Mary attempt that nearly connected.

And on the final play, the DB tried to catch the ball instead of simply knocking it down. Just stupid football.

I’m very, very happy we won, and we have a few more winnable games coming up here. But with a defense playing like this, we can’t count on anything.

Look at the NFL.

Every game teams have at least 20 points before the half.

There are no good defensive teams.

The days of 10-3 games is over and the League wants it this way.

More points = more viewers = more money.

I’m sure you’re objective, and you actually know what you’re talking about, as you have a Jerry clown face as your avatar.

Are you unaware that Nico Collins missed the Cincinnati and Indianapolis games?

Only 2 teams in the NFL are allowing more yards per game.

Only 4 teams are allowing more points per game.

13 teams are holding opponents to 21 points or less per game.

People may or may not see it. But this defense is progressing nicely. It’s coming along. I’ll admit I wish it was a bit more rapid. But progress is progress and I’m happy w what I’m seeing lately. By no means is it perfect but it’s progressing

They look a *little* better than last year based solely on the “eye test” but they have got to find a way to get home on the few pressures they get and they still don’t have an INT yet

Bruh... I literally cited the Texans scoring 6 and 17 in total in their two previous games and you come in here saying: "Every game teams have at least 20 points before the half."

There have been 63 NFL games so far this season, and in 36 of them at least one team failed to score 20 points. That's 57% of games!!!

Are you objective?

Jerry is a clown. The Cowboys are a Circus. AND the defense sucks.

D actually played solid the first half. Kept us in it till O could get going. Baby steps, but getting better.

No, not unaware. I just don't think he's worth 24 or 13 points.

Are you aware those previous two games were vs the Bengals and Colts. Not exactly teams knows for playing great defense this season.

It really sucks but Stroud was amazing, his accuracy was great and the Texan fans(all 10 of them)should be gutted after starting 0-4 with Stroud playing on a pro bowl level.

The strategy on that last play bothers me. That was a 50/50 ball and they fully allowed it to happen just to have players in the middle of the field instead of rushing.

That could have been a total disaster and we would all be in full meltdown mode otherwise.

And yes, they are always going to play dumb football.

They are giving up 5 less points per game compared to last year. Still got far to go but improving
I see it as two:
Defensive Metric2025 Full Season (17 Games)2026 First 4 Games
Points Per Game (PPG)30.1 PPG (32nd in NFL)28.00 PPG (25th)

But we're giving up more total yards per game and more rushing yards per game.
