Payton might offer us Darren Howard for Romo.
That would be an even swap of two somewhat intriguing guys not seen as starters by their current teams.

It would allow Payton a year to get his franchise QB ready.

Why do we have the impression that Peyton loves Romo. We have not heard anything from Peyton's mouth that he is in love with Romo's game have we.

Now, we have heard from BP that he likes Peyton, but why do we assume Peyton has the same love for the guy?

The reason I wouldn't do it because we are not rebuilding, and that would be a rebuilding situation. Because at some point, you might want to sell out to get a super star.

Now I wouldn't mind trading the 18th and Glover or Ellis to move into the top 10 and get DT Ngata or Hawk. Maybe we would have to throw in a 4 from next year also. But that way you get a monster DT or Monster ILB that would turn your defense into an unstoppable force - You wouldn't lose any draft picks,(except maybe a 3 or 4 next year) and you would be gone with Ellis or Glover.

Infatuation or not, no way is Payton gonna give up a blue chipper in either Young or Leinart for Romo.

It depends on the nature and extent of the infatuation. Perhaps these apparently wild speculations are based on unreported insider information.

We trade Romo, our #18, our 3rd this year to the Saints for:

Their #2 this year.

We then have our choice of Leinart or Young (future QB to groom under Bledsoe) or we trade down 2 spots and recoup our lost 3rd and possibly our 4th and still get Ferguson or A.J. Hawk...
