... but same effect. DeMarco Murray's running style excites his OL, same as Emmitt's OL:

“Oh, man, he gives us confidence that if we make our blocks he’s going to hit it hard and going to get in the end zone,” guard Montrae Holland said. “As an O-lineman it makes you more eager to block.”

The Demarco Murray Effect

Same OL, but different atttitude, and much different result. The inclusion of Fiametta and Holland play a part, but the entire OL is blocking better with Murray as starter.

I love hearing this!

This game in like 80-90 percent mental

If you have the confidence, and right mindset, you can dominate.

I hope this happens with the OL...maybe they were never motivated...just like our D last year

Now they see they don't have to just sit back and pass block, and the fact the RB makes their efforts worth it, we may see a whole different OL

Ah, yes. There's no stopping Phil Costa and the gang now.

Misleading title to the thread, but interesting article. When you have team leaders like Witten talking like that, it is high praise.

If its coming from the lockerroom like this, its going to be hard for JG to ignore it and just plug Felix back in as the starter. The writing is on the wall.

If you cannot see the difference then we will leave you to your misery, and ignorance. What was that about pee-wee football again? :laugh2:

It was 'Phil Costa wouldn't even be a good starting center in pee-wee football.'

You are completely dishonest. You asserted that it would not matter who the RB was, the OL would not allow the Cowboys to be successful running the ball.

I told you different, stating that OL can be motivated to play above their ability if a back inspired them with their physical play. I let you know that this was universal, whether pee-wee, high school, college or the pros.

You tried your best to discredit me, your sarcasm has been duly noted ... and exposed as the ignorance it is.

I've said that we'll never be a good run team with this offensive line. That's true.

I didn't say that we won't have good games running the ball in a 16 game season.

We still can't run the ball when we really have to. When the defense is waiting for it. Hence our inability to score inside the 5. We can't do it. And it's because of our blockers.

Murray doesn't change that. Adrian Peterson doesn't change that. And once this season is over you'll see the Cowboys changing personnel there. Making me right and you wrong.

Good day.

Not only are you stubbornly self deluded, now you are trying to create loopholes for yourself. Pathetic. It is more important for you to be right then for your team to be doing well. Insane.

He'd actually be a good center at a lot of colleges. But not big and strong enough for the NFL.

but I think Hos was right

I think Murray should be the starting RB

he said before the season that he would replace Felix

he just seems like a more every down back

guess we just have to see

Yeah, I'll take the Bills as a good team at this point...not seattle, or st. louis but a WINNING team. Bills are 5-3, but gimping: IF Demarco can scorch them and we win, I'll start to get excited. I like the kid, but we all like Julius Jones at one point too: then he disappeared off the face of the earth. Long season, some of you need to calm down.

Does anyone know of a highlight video of Murrays runs this year? I'd LOVE to see it.

You just want to say this, so in any case you can say "i told you so"

Really. I agree with you. The Seahawks were ranked 11th against the run, and Demarco still got his yards. Sure the sample size is still small, but it's pretty evident he is a very good RB.

Pretty cool article. I like how they came out and said that. It definitely gets dmurs excited too.

I stated when they drafted Murray, don't be shocked if he ends up being the starting running back sooner than later...

I absolutely love this quote by Witten:

And he comes in every day and works his butt off. He had the big game a couple of weeks ago against St. Louis, and then Wednesday he’s out there playing scout team. It’s like, ‘I don’t think you need to be the scout team back any more, DeMarco. I love the mentality that you have, but get some rest. We need you over here.’
