If Parsons plays DE this week Hurts will rush for 200 yards.

Gameplan to me should be to run the hell out of the football with Hurts, Sanders and Gainwell.....

I think it's more of the celebrating that occurs when he's not doing anything or anyone else hasn't. Guy trips over a blade of grass or misses a catchable ball and there's Jaylon acting like he was the sole contributor to the play. There's too much of Emmitt in me: Just hand the ball off to the ref and go to sidelines. Emmitt was so good that he didn't need to remind anyone. Jaylon is constantly over compensating.

The helmet rule is there because of Emmett

Just to be clear, Emmitt didn't once hand the ball to the ref and go to the sidelines. He preferred to take his helmet off and keep the ball.

I love Emmitt, but don't make him out to be a guy that quietly celebrated TD's, etc. He was fiery.

I don't know if we've seen enough to suggest the D is "different". We've seen Herbert light them up for 300+ yards and we've seen Brady do it. I believe Jalen is good but he doesn't have the accuracy they have. So if this continues....this may just be what the defense is. Bend but don't break. Back to the Maranelli days.....and I'm not upset about it if they can keep getting turnovers. That's where Maranelli's defense lacked.

Defense better get better though.
I know it is only 2 games. But they are ranked 27 to 31 is most top categories. Yards, Points and yards per play given up.
However they are 9th in rushing yards given up. But when you are an offense and can get the same yards passing, you go that route.

I do expect them to improve though. None us thought, or should have thought we would start out any other way. But to improve as the season went along.
I said in the off season, they do not need to finish a top 12 defenses, but just be playing like it come playoff push time and beyond.

We get our injured guys back, these numbers will improve as they gel as a team also.

I do like the change in style and attitude. It shows on the field like night and day.

Yup, that's what I'm talkin' bout!!! I mean, we're not there yet, but to me the difference is already huge!!!

I didn't specifically call out the safeties....I referring to the defense as a whole. And as a whole they picked off a quarterback TWICE and he STILL had a 75% completion rate.

I'm not knocking them. I just don't know if they are doing anything they didn't do towards the end of last season. Mind you, they did it without "safeties" just as you suggested.

defense is bending but not breaking starting to remind me of Marinelli's and some of Wares old Defenses that were pretty good..Opportunistic but will give up yardage..so far they are tops in the league in forcing TOS and its keeping us in games but hopefully as they gel more then can have shorter drives against..id like more punt..

i think our S group is playing a lot better..add diggs in and yes overall they are playing well..you are correct buzz saw start to the season facing those two offenses b2b on the road on two different coasts with new defensive scheme..we should get better with time and only real scary team we have left that can hang 40 on us is KC..i mean other good ones sure but you are correct none like these two offense with those qbs..

Understood. Which is why I said I don't see any difference in the "D"...as of ring now they have one solid performance under their belt and one......depends on what you think of the Bucc's to determine if that was bad or average. I'd probably lean towards average D but there were some average D's last season.

hey they are short handed big time it will gel, TB couldn't run onus game 1 that was a DL was it not? Galllimore, hill and others will come to the rescue and al the others will gel..Osi looked pretty good yesterday..

this was a complete overhaul and game 2 it isnt going to be as good as it can be game 7..hope they gel by KC lOL
as KC though if they luv that expensive DL after getting ran over all day and beat yesterday,,look around the league all the high scoring close games..having an dominate D is tough these days..offenses find ways to expose your weaknesses.

Wait till we have Parsons, Tank, Gregory, Odighizuwa, Bohanna and Gallimore all out there. Plus LVE actually seems to be returning to form, hopefully he can stay healthy.

Wasn’t that the first game we’ve won in like almost 3 years without putting up 30 points. Amazing .

But we got some help with 2 TD’s called back and another interception in endzone.

Overall with turnovers alone the defense is improved thus far.
