The Draft Scenario that scares me

Absolutely. It's actually an easy choice with Chase being the clear cut best player available.

Not sure it’s that clear cut. Parson was considered the highest rated defensive player prior to some character issues that surfaced.

Consider the impact of each player on our team.
Only 1 football to go around on offense which has Zeke, Cooper, Lamb and Gallup. Even If Gallup or Cooper leaves you will still have Lamb and Zeke at the minimal. Maximum number of touches is about 10....

Parson can be plugged in to play even if at SAM. We have an awful D that can benefit from infusion of any blue chip player not to mention the uncertainly of the entire LB unit. I am also of the school that you build D inside out. If D players are closely rated then the one plays closer to LOS will make bigger impact.

do not fear, for I am with you
and because this draft scenario would happen

Every year I watch the predraft scenarios and they are always filled with 15 guys we want being taken by the 10th pick.

For sure, Parsons makes a bigger impact on this team. Just saying, objectively, Chase is a much higher regarded prospect than Parsons

I'm taking Chase and F the world! No one would have a better set of weapons...

Yes, he is. Chase is one of three or four blue chip talents, outside of QBs. Parsons is not. There's a huge chasm between these two guys as prospects.

That's not just my personal opinion either. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn't think that.

Of course, that doesn't mean I'm right. But one of these guys is considered a slam dunk and the other definitely is not.
You keep misevaluating due to personal preferences. Parsons is blue chip. Higher ceiling than Chase. The only thing knocking him down is the fact that he opted out. If he'd played, he'd be the first player off the boards after the QB's. Teams would be trading up for him.

We may have a shot at drafting a generational talent. We'd be utterly stupid to pass up Parsons.

This has less to do with personal preferences and more to do with every single draft outlet and expert rating Chase higher

How much of an impact can he make when he has O-lineman to fight off? Not sure what impact any linebacker can make consistently until D-tackle is fixed.

That's why I said I would always try to build inside out.

If there's a DT remotely closely rated that high then I would be taking a DT. However, there isn't a DL player that's considered blue chip in this draft.
