Since when does a coordinator need to give his blessing for staff changes?
Last time I checked MM is still the head coach and the head coach makes the final decision, in consultation with the GM, on any staff changes.
This is the equivalent of needing Kellen Moore's permission to fire the offensive line or running backs coach. Seriously?
Now if Dan Quinn wants full carte blanche over all the defensive assistants, then he can negotiate that into his contract. But the idea that the Cowboys needed to call up Quinn, who is in another city interviewing for another job, and get his blessing for not renewing an assistant coach's expiring contract is just absurd.
