Since when does a coordinator need to give his blessing for staff changes?

Last time I checked MM is still the head coach and the head coach makes the final decision, in consultation with the GM, on any staff changes.

This is the equivalent of needing Kellen Moore's permission to fire the offensive line or running backs coach. Seriously?

Now if Dan Quinn wants full carte blanche over all the defensive assistants, then he can negotiate that into his contract. But the idea that the Cowboys needed to call up Quinn, who is in another city interviewing for another job, and get his blessing for not renewing an assistant coach's expiring contract is just absurd.

in retrospect these moves make sense. LVE has improved quite a bit since DQ arrived. he seems to really have a handle on reading the offense, and anticipating whats coming.

back in hard knocks i was watching DQ diving on the ground showing DL how to defeat roll blocks, thinking why is the DC showing these guys something they should know by now .
I didn’t know these guys were Nolan hold overs so maybe it's addition by subtraction.

Amidst the celebration of Quinn returning let me be the one to remind you of what just happened.

The Cowboys released George Edwards yesterday to the confusion of their own coordinator. The guy they supposedly covet and hand the keys to the defense to.

Well that guy is now coming back and he sure would like to know why one of his assistants isn't there anymore and why he wasn't involved in the decision.

GMs pick coaches. Coaches pick coordinators. Coordinators pick their assistants. Any interference in that is mismanagement and you know who is the cause of it.

Some things will just never change.
